Horrible! The whole hotel reeks of sulphur! It stunk! Even on the ninth floor. Busloads of Chinese tourists all talking loudly and shouting in corridors all night. Woken up during the night by them. We had the western/ Japanese room so two single beds and a futon bed on the floor. Doona on futon bed not big enough. Thin threadbare towels with a bathroom that was a cupboard and stunk of cigarette smoke. Tiny rock hard pillows too! Dinner and breakfast included and it was awful! Best thing I ate was soggy cucumber and white rice. Just awful! Plastic plates and plastic cutlery. No bar, cafe or restaurant in hotel- vending machines greet you in the lobby on arrival! Did I mention the smell?? Good location- walking distance to everything but would never, ever return and would never recommend. Couldnt get out of there fast enough!

Distinctly average...OK - the positives first. The onsen in the hotel is quite good - including an outdoor onsen which is lovely in winter - and the hotel is conveniently located for the walking trails nearby and Noboribetsu town centre (its one street by the way...). Thats it. This hotel very much caters to the bus loads of Chinese / Korean onsen tourists who stay a night, have loud cell phone conversations (or play with their kids) in the hallway right outside your room in the small hours and then get bussed out the next morning. Rooms are very basic - think European 2/3 star pensione. Buffet style meals are served in large, loud brightly lit dining rooms - think college / university mess hall. Food is just about edible but try not be lured by the promise of all you can eat crab legs - for they are watery and rubbery. You should also be aware that the sulphuric smell from the hot springs can be pretty over powering.

Recommended strongly.1)it was a smooth check-in, friendly helpful staff, and easily available parking space. 2) walking distance to hell valley around 10 minutes stroll. 3) we stayed in tatami room standard japan size with the most brilliant view and functional bathroom. 4) we took the package including dinner and breakfast. You got to choose the timing to dine in as they will try to arrange the table to avoid overcrowding. Available time was 5.30pm -7 pm or night time. The food was the bomb with varieties of fresh seafood and desserts. 5) there is a local bus going around the hotel are available for you to wander surrounding the area.

Good for an onsen getawayHotel is decent and generally clean. Wouldnt say that it is spotless but it was decent. Room was spacious. Friendly staff. The hotel is located close to the valley so good for walks and sightseeing. If you plan on coming here by public transport alone, it is a bit of a walk from the bus station. When it is snowing, dragging your luggage to/from the hotel may not be as fun. There are a few large public baths available at the basement of the hotel. No mix gender bath. Not sure about the female side, but on the male side there were a few different baths, and each seems to have a different temperature. There is also an outdoor bath. The water has a strong sulphur smell, so you know youre getting genuine stuff but if you cannot stand the rotten egg smell then perhaps seek a different type of onsen. The food was alright. Would not say that they were spectacular, but at least edible. Its a nice place to go for a night or two but I wouldnt stay long. It appears that theres no option to go out and eat as there arent any eateries around from what we could see. When night comes theres not much to do other than onsen or stay in your hotel room to watch Netflix. If you have a car, its not that far to drive to Sapporo should you wish to do something at night.

Average hotel - OverpricedThe goods: Near Hell Valley. Comfortable futon. The bads: Cleanliness: Need improvement for both rooms and onsen area. Food : Dinner and breakfast are of limited choices and can taste better Onsen: Outdoor pool is too small while showering area and walkways are not clean
