    beautiful family holiday

We spent a wonderful winter holiday in this high class resort. The facilities are very clean and modern, the breakfast buffet is ridiculously rich and yummy, the views are charming. They let our daughter sleep on the sofa for free without adding an extra bed. However, there are definitely things I would improve: the sink is absolutely too small for practical use and you end up splashing all over the floor; the tv signal is weak and programs get interrupted all the time, which makes watching very annoying; the transfer from Baku is way overpriced: we paid for the car as much as we paid for three nights at the hotel. Skiing facilities in the area are excellent, especially for beginners and children. Renting equipment and ski-passes are very cheap compared to the Alps.

    Great experience

Great room facilities, room temperature was just right (not over heated). Delicious open buffet breakfast would be good to have teapots for self-service available at breakfast, to avoid tea queues.

    Not bad

The hotel is owned by Marriott but the management is poor. We got 4 rooms. 3 weeks in advance. They could it manage to provide in the same floor. One of the rooms had bad sewage smell so we changed it. On of the rooms has nothing in it. Like shampoo...... The vibe of the hotel is good. Good big clean rooms. The spa is nice. But the jacuzzi water was cold for two days. Again mismanagement. Good massage was provided. The breakfast is good on the 7 th floor. There is shisha aSpin Bar but only from 7 pm.

Great place but need to improve the service

We booked 4 nights to this hotel considering that there was nothing to do except ski activities because we just wanted a good relaxation time. Being first time to this country and given that its a 3 hour drive from Baku we were very exhausted on the arrival date. We were given a room on the 6th floor I believe the category I booked. Upon arrival it doesnt really feel welcoming at all or staff might be exhausted as its a weekend. We arrived at the room clean and empty. When we start unloading our stuff I found out that the bathroom door was broken so I had to call the reception, I keep calling hundred times but they cannot hear me and shutting the phone down and I realize that there were also problem on the phone so I decided to go down and luckily passed by maintenance guy at the corridor, He came and check the room and fixed the washroom and telephone only to find out that the lights of the entire room isnt working and as well as the AC control for temperature, He had to call another technician that took us about 2 hours waiting and we are all exhausted specially the kids. I had to go down to ask for a room move because I cant wait any longer. When I came to reception the lady told me that she can give me another room with same category but twin bed and definitely I refused and reason out then she handed me over to another receptionist and for some reason she got me a room same floor and king bed fast forward, When we move the things the room has a welcome fruit and sweets inside where I didnt find from the previous room I had, I dont care about it much because we can buy or order that but why we didnt got it from another room? its unfair treatment considering we are mariott loyal guest. 1st night things are resolved and during our stay I noticed that communication are the number one problem because its difficult to deal with the staff on minimum english. Since we are only dining at the hotel as theres no other place I asked if they could credit my bill to my bonvoy points and I was surprised that they have no idea about bonvoy so I guess I have mistake that its a part of mariott hotel, Doesnt matter that much again. Another thing was my husband birthday, I have mentioned it from the reservation while I was dealing with them but no one seem to bother replying me so the day of my husband birthday I had to ask reception if they can arrange something like a small cake or whatever for my husband to be surprised in the room he said yes they can arrange, we left morning and I told them to clean the room and place the cake so he will be surprised but when we went back around 3 pm the room were still dirty and no cake. Never mind again I called for housekeeping and another hour before they sent to clean and the cake arrive when we are all sleeping for rest. You see this is communication problem and staff doesnt know how to anticipate guests all they do is to stand there and smirk with the guests and doesnt even know how to smile and greet. This is definitely not a Mariott standard. However, I am thankful for the chef and waiter that gave my husband complimentary azeri traditional food at the bar somehow my husband shared that he likes to try that particular azeri food but cant be found in the menu and they still manage to give him its a shame that I didnt get their names and he cant remember it too but Thank you guys. They were from the Aspen bar. Over all stay was great and love the place but considering the service to compare on the price and expenses makes us think twice if we would come back for another vacation on the same hotel.
