Dated Hotel with Excellent LocationWe went there in September this year as a family with a 2 years old child. First contact with the front desk was a bit difficult since they speak little to no English. We got room 426 which is a room with no balcony and no sea view (even if they say all the rooms have balconies with sea view). We didn't really care about the sea view, but the balcony would have been great. Room was clean, dated and we didn't like the matrices at all. The hotel is not child friendly - there are no fences around the pools or any amenities for children. To be more exact, this is a hotel addressed to elder people that come to the thermal waters for treatment. The good things, are the view, the location, the free entrance at the Castiglione Therme and the friendliness of the staff. We had half-board. Breakfast was very repetitive and with very few choices but we managed with it. Dinner on the other hand was very nice as we had appetizers, first course, second course and desert. The staff at the restaurant was great. Some things to take into consideration: - there is a 3 euro/day tax for all adults over 18. - there is a service tax if you sit at the restaurants/cafes/bars ~2 euros/person from what we saw - most of the places are closed between 12:00, 12:30 and 4:00 pm.

great hospitalityWe have stayed in hotels where some of the staff are friendly. Here everybody's friendly, the way the staff interact with the guests you can tell that the hospitality is genuine. It's not luxury but it's clean and tidy. Our room was on 3rd floor and the view over the port was fantastic. We will be back.

Lovely thermal centreWe enjoyed a one-night stay at the Hotel Parco Aurora. We made sure we took advantage of the thermal centre on the property and particularly enjoyed the Kneipp pools and the hydro massage pool. The water in both was delightful and soothing. We also trekked down to the beach - quite a walk. Remember to take a towel from the hotel, as there are no towels at the beach itself. I would almost bypass the beach - it is underwhelming with a mediocre stretch of sand. You do get two deck chairs with your room. Speaking of the room, it too is underwhelming. While we had an amazing view of the pool area and the water in the distance, the interior of the room is average at best for the price. (We were in an annex of sorts, off of the main hotel). The TV has a wide range of channels, yet is quite small. The bathroom is almost an after-thought, and the quality of the bathroom products is inferior based on the room cost. The room is redeemed by the outdoor sitting area with two chairs and a table, and incredible views. The breakfast was tasty - and the staff went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied. They even provided us with a dish not available on the buffet. Very kind, with great attention to making guests happy! In fact, every staff member we encountered did their best to make sure they answered our questions in a helpful manner. We felt quite welcome. If you are looking for great views and a soothing thermal centre, this is the place for you.

Stunning location, beautiful hotelMy daugter and I stayed here for only one night (sadly, wish it could have been longer). The Hotel is in a perfect location and the staff were incredible (Particularly a gentleman name Pasquale & the Manager Giovanni. We were upgraded to a Villa overlooking the ocean which was amazing. The swimming pools were sparkling clean and the room was very good size and it had the best shower we have had in our whole European trip!! The service from staff and the hotel itself could not have been better. Cant wait to go back and spend more time there.

Great location on the coast with great thermal facilitiesWe had a wonderful 3 night stay at the Parco Aurora. Couldn't ask for more - charming large hotel that felt small and cosy, located right on the coast overlooking the turquoise waters, pleasant 10-15 minute walk through the main shopping/restaurant streets from the port, 2 minutes from a public beach, and 10 minutes from the Aragon Castle. A big bonus were the excellent thermal facilities - two main outdoor thermal swimming pools (one heated, one natural), and then a thermal wellness centre in the basement with various pools and wet and dry saunas. Perfect for April when the ocean is too cold for a swim. The rooms themselves aren't 5-star, but nor should they be for the great price we paid. There's always Capri if that's what you are looking for. They were spacious and functional with decent bathrooms, and even though ours was the cheapest it had a nice terrace overlooking the nextdoor hotel's pool and out to sea. If you prefer a grander thermal experience, the hotel has an arrangement with one of the island's largest thermal parks (the name escapes me). You will get free entry and just pay the EUR5 ticket for the coach transfers. We only ate dinner at the hotel and can certainly recommend it - you get a huge antipasto buffet for entree (we would've been happy with that for our entire meal), plus a choice of 3 course set menus and a decent wine selection. Fantastic attentive service from the entire waitstaff too. The staff across the entire hotel were exceptionally good. The reception couldn't do enough to help and English was never a problem. They organised scooters to be dropped off at the hotel for us for the same price as the shops around the port too. Even the local old cleaning lady who couldn't speak a word of English somehow made us feel so welcome. All in all, this was a truly amazing find and will definitely be back next time we're in Ischia.
