Paradise for kidsI don't know why this place gets so many bad reviews. We had the best time with our Grandchildren. The room we had was recently upgraded so we were very happy with it. The activities, pool area, water park and kids club are so good we had trouble getting the kids to leave. The food outlets and Bar are also good quality and well priced. We loved the live music on Sunday afternoon but wish it went longer. The only thing missing is a child free place to hang out while the kiddos are in kids club. I think they are in the process of building something now. We will definitely be coming back for another stress free holiday next Christmas school Holidays.

Needs a lot of upgrades. Old tired and dirty. We have been to the resort a number of times but our last stay just recently will be our last. The last 2 times we have been there we have been given the old un-refurbished rooms and boy do they show their age. The smell of chlorine when we opened the door was disgusting. We had the king bunk house and my boys said the beds were like sleeping on cardboard as was the king bed. One of the most uncomfortable beds I have slept on in a hotel. My boys also said that the fan in the bunk area did not work and the gaming device attached to the TV did not work either. Our room was over the pool area directly above the restaurants and it was so loud. Constant noise. The ancient air-con had a light that kept flashing all night and the room in general was just old tired and dirty. The hot water in the shower got incredibly hot very fast almost immediately and so dangerous for a hotel that is kid friendly. If hotel staff are reading this you certainly need to look into that before someone is badly burnt. Check in was slow and staff not exactly friendly. Parking costs extra continental breakfast is average at best. The problem of the water park not having enough seating has not changed and still very frustrating there is no where to sit. Back in the day this was the go to place if you had children but now there are many other places competing. Do some research and see if this is really where you want to spend your money. It's sad as it has the potential to be great and the concept is great too but some changes really need to be made for this hotel to keep its status.

Overpriced, old and rundownWe stayed two nights with friends. 8 adults, 4 children and 3 babies. All separate rooms. The place has potential but it it is old, run down, felt dirty and so not worth the nightly price tag. The check-in took 40 mins, pretty ordinary considering there is someone in the driveway telling you you can't park in there while you wait. Crazy. We booked a double room (nearly $200 extra). Once we got to the rooms along the dingy hallway we were greeted by a weird smell in the room. It didn't last the weekend but its not a great entry. The rooms are dated, average looking and only have one small split cycle air-con. The second room just has a small, cheap wall mounted fan....seriously, for $300 a night! The bathroom is pokey, dated but it works. Be careful of the lift. If you are the 2nd person in there is every chance you could be cut in half by the door. Dangerous if you have a trolley, bags or kids The pools are the highlight. There is a small wading pool with a small slide for the little kids, larger deeper pools in the middle and a large water area at the other end with bigger slides etc for the bigger kids. Its the best part about the resort. We got a spot with a large umbrella for our group, get there early to get your spot as it gets busy. The umbrella is huge and you can move it with the sun which is nice. The tables need replacing as they are very wobbly. The restaurant produced decent food...when you go it. They stuffed up one of our meals and had to wait for it to be re-cooked, finally got it and then they had no knives and forks so staff had to gather a search party to find them. As a stand alone issue its not even worth a mention but when your opinion of the place is already diminished it just adds salt to injury. Coffee is excellent and I was given a free coffee while I waited for the new meal which was nice. Make sure you book for kids club, its complimentary. We went to book the night before only to be told had to be booked by 7pm. That's fine but there was no mention of that at reception when booking in. Pretty critical piece of information for families. Lastly you have to pay $40 extra to park in the carpark. How ridiculous. Hide it in the bloody price if you insist on charging for it. It should be complimentary considering how much the place charges for a night and yet delivers so poorly. My advice save your coin and stay somewhere else. We paid over $600 for two nights, not even close to good value.

Hostel, not even a motelIt's a joke. Run down, yellow bed linen, no duvet on one bed, no blankets, aircon blowing only one direction- straight on the bed. Use sticky tape or a chewing gum to keep air on flap up. Dirty children spa, inexperienced childcare staff. Just teenagers themselves. Book service apartment with a pool.

1 Night Family GetawayDecided on a 1 night little getaway close to home. To be truthful, should have stayed at home. Perhaps I was expecting a little more for the $280, hence my disappointment. Traveling with our two children 7 & 3, we thought that a hotel for them would be a great idea. The Resort truly has great intentions but is very tired and is in need a a full Reno. I think some rooms have been done. Waited approx 20 mins to check in, the car park was full (charge for this) but was given the option to park in the free paddock next door. Our room was old and Im sorry to say felt dirty. There has been a revamp on the top cover linen, but that was about it. Bar fridge had a cord running through it and wasnt cold at all. Bathroom basin unfortunately with mould and a loud vibrating tap with rusted shower drain. There was aircon in the rooms but very old and rattled non stop to the point our kids couldnt sleep and we had to turn it off. As our room was near the highway were able to hear everything from the road in (no soundproofing) so opening the balcony doors wasnt an option. The balcony I didnt trust, as didnt go out there am unable to comment. Did take a picture though. Unfortunately there is only one small circular cold pool, which doesnt cater for the size of the place at all. It is a huge roomed resort with a 20/30 person pool. The kids water area is new and looks great, but with the limited space, there was not enough seating for all. We did leave and spend the day at the beach which is only a few blocks walk away. As is Surfers Paradise, location not too bad, 10 min walk. This place has huge potential but unfortunately in its current state isnt worth the price or the stars. Great kids concept, with a Reno and space planning (too many rooms and not enough room)- would be an epic kids wonderland. Wont be returning anytime soon but do look forward to what gets done with the place.
