Welcome to the oil countryThis is a reasonably well-maintained facility that caters to both travelers and oil field workers. As a result room rates tend to be influenced by the price of oil and the current level of oil exploration and production activity. I made the reservation for the room about 2 1/2 months before my arrival through Expedia. The desk clerk couldn't find it, but luckily had documentation, so it was resolved. The room was clean, well-equipped, and quiet. I would stay here again if I needed to stay overnight in Valleyview,

Friendliest hotel aroundMy husband and I stayed the night at this hotel on our road trip from Minnesota to Alaska. We were traveling with our dogs for the first time and so a lot of what stood out to us in hotels was the way that "pet friendly" meant something different at every hotel. This hotel stood out for being among the friendliest. It was also pretty nice for us humans. First of all, when we got to the hotel, my husband waited outside with the dogs as I checked in and the front desk staff asked how many dogs we had so that she could give us a treat for each dog. That made a big impression! Other hotels take that moment upon check-in to share rules about pets, such as where they are/aren't allowed, picking up after them, etc. We were encouraged to pick up after our pet outside, but other than that it was a big relief that the hotel allowed us to share our room with the dogs comfortably. Specifically, they were allowed on the bed, we could walk in the regular front entrance with them, we didn't feel that we were offered a sub-par room just because we had dogs, etc. When pet friendly hotels make rules limiting where dogs can be in the room, what we have felt is that the hotel wants to pass on the responsibility for the next guest to us as a burden to bear. This hotel seemed to take on the responsibility for guest care, including making sure our stay was comfortable. The room we booked was large, clean, modern, and everything worked (coffee machine, hot/cold water, etc.). The front desk staff even asked if after check-in they could do a courtesy call to check on whether the room was satisfactory. Between very pet friendly behavior of staff and hotel policies and their way of welcoming us, this hotel really went out of their way to ensure this was a good stay for us. I'd stay here again if I'm coming back through the area and I'd recommend it to others.

Not quite as advertisedSpent three nights in the King Suite at the Paradise Inn in Valleyview in early May. The website describes "a full kitchen with dishwasher. Eating bar." There was a kitchen with stove and full size fridge. No microwave. No pots or pans. (I did get a saucepan and frying pan after asking. The man at the desk didn't understand what I was asking for at first) No eating bar. No dishwasher. I had to place the dish draining thing on the stove to dry dishes in as there was no counter space at all. All food prep had to be done on the cutting board placed on the stove. The TV in the kitchen/living room hid the plug in box for the TV itself and the coffee pot. We had to take the tv off the wall in order to plug them in. The separate bedroom was nice. The bed was comfortable. Some of the dishes in the cupboard were dirty (coffee cups not washed well).

Dirty RoomWe stayed in room 212 (a suite), it was dirty and certainly showed to be a work crew room. I reached out 2 times to the manager Mike and sent him several pictures with some serious concerns with the cleanliness of the room. That was a month ago.

Fall Bike TripOkay rate. Could be lower in this season. $150+ for 2 persons at a govt. rate was steep. Rooms were clean and comfortable. $5 breakfast at attached restaurant was a great deal. Front desk staff friendly and helpful.
