  Beautiful stay at Datura !!

  Girls week away at Datura Villa went above and beyond my expectations. From the minute we got at the villa up to the time we left I felt right at home . The staff is wonderful , they instantly become family to us. They couldn't do enough to make your stay more comfortable , from the food to the lodging. I can not wait to return !!

  I just returned from a second family vacation at Datura Villa. There aren't enough words to express how sorry we were to leave at the end of the week. Walking into the villa is like stepping back into a more elegant time. Cool breezes slip through the shutters, the rooms are a quaintly decorated, and the staff is superb. Precious is the most marvelous cook. Her traditional Jamaican dishes are delicious, but my favorite is her soups... all wonderful. Mervi and Opie, the house keepers, are friendly and efficient. Henry, the gardener and security, is a sweetheart. Mr Chisolm, who drives and manages, knows everything about the island. The view of the bay is breathtaking from the pool and spa. The grounds are a tropical paradise of trees, flowers, and plants. This all combines to make a lovely, safe, and memorable experience. We'll be back.

  Excellent idea for large family or multiple couples

  We went a few years ago and it was delightful. The view, the staff, the grounds and the food were all fabulous. It was a very unique experience as we had the place to ourselves. Plenty of room. We had a cook, driver and groundskeeper on staff that accomodated every request. The property was also tied to a marina and local beach resort so we could utilize those facilities and amenities as needed. I'd skip the trip in town to pick out food with the cook. A bit sketchy. We did not leave the property other than doing some light shopping and I'd even skip that next time. We spent most of the time at the pool and relaxed on site at night. I'd do more beach time at the local resort if we were to return but overall it was a fantastic experience. The owner is very responsive and accommodating.

  Very relaxing place to stay with a Beautiful View!

  We took a work group here with 10 of us and it was a great choice. The staff at the house takes care of everything - cooking, cleaning, food shopping, chauffeur service. they are helpful and very nice. Relax on the patio with a stunning view of Montego Bay or head anywhere you want to see the sights. They can help with where to go as well. Wonderful week, highly recommend it.

  Never need to leave, 7 miles from MBJ

  Keep in mind this is a VBRO villa and not a hotel. Your experience: My wife and I stayed for one week with three other couples 2/18 to 2/25/2018. A huge house, we never felt crowded. The view cannot be properly expressed by the web site, simply breathtaking. The best thing about our stay was the staff. Precious, the main cook met with us our first morning and planned all meals and times for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This in it self made for such a relaxing vacation. Doc Henry (the "gardener") was special. He attended to all are needs, answered questions and help arrange day trips. We hired Chisolm for the week to take us to the beach, Negril, Rick's Café, and lazy river raft ride. Pros: You can do excursions or never leave the resort and have a wonderful time. The views. The food was outstanding and set at the table timely every day. Bedrooms/ bath rooms cleaned daily (clean sheets and towels) with 4 of 5 bedrooms with their own private bath. A bathroom by the pool made getting rid of beer and cocktails an easy step away. Cons: We all agreed we were not expecting all the traffic noise from the highway almost 2 miles away. We understand they are in the process of making all trucks have muffled jack breaks. There was no Ice "chest" just a igloo water jug to fill with beer and ice would only hold 6-8 beers and had to refill. The "apartment" size guest fridge took awhile to cool our beverages, but could put in the kitchen freezer for short time to get ice cold. Beds were comfortable, but could upgrade the pillows. Chisolm was informative, but soft spoken so people in the back of the van could not hear him all the time. He also has failing eye sight and had his son Steve drive if we had a long trip planned or there was night driving involved. I was surprised the pool water was a bit chilly, but after couple of beers who cares. The hot tub was perfect temperature. Another note about security: The villa has two locked gates (and are kept locked) on it's drive way leading up to house. Doc Henry tours the grounds after dark and locks all of the doors after everyone is asleep. He also took on some hikes thru areas he said it would be best to only go with him along and the locals respect his position. On excursions Chisolm is always with the van and waits in the parking lot until your return trip. Stayed: February 2018 Recommended for: Activities (lazy river raft ride and only about 15 minuets away. $50:00 per couple plus tip) Culture (Doc Henry is a weath of information) Family (plenty to do and space) Friends (plenty of time for laughing and drinkin) Groups (plenty of space)
