  Great place great price

  We walked in off the street as backpacking and had not booked anything in advance. Found staff to be very helpful and accommodating. Good rooms, decent air-con, all round a very pleasant stay. In between the town and the beach, far enough away from both so as not to be bothered by the noise from town or the mosquitos from the beach.

  Not Overly Impressed

  We were wandering around town one evening looking for somewhere nice to eat when we saw Papaa's. It advertised Chinese/Thai/Western food so thought we would give it a try. We walked in and were greeted by a member of staff, his English wasn't great so there was a bit of confusion when it came to establishing where the restaurant was. He led us up the stairs to an outside area. The restaurant was outside so it was incredibly stuffy and very warm. The lighting in the restaurant was very very dark so it was hard to see the menu or much else and also the chairs are plastic which means you end up sticking to them in the warm weather. The menu had a good range of food but I didn't notice any real Thai food (which is what drew me in to the restaurant in the first place). I ordered a Sri Lankan Omlette and my partner the Sweet and Sour Chicken with Noodles. Our drinks came out and I had a very warm Lime and Soda (no ice!!), which I didn't drink. The food took a long time to arrive and we did consider leaving as it was taking so long, especially as we were the only 2 in the restaurant. When the food came out it was tasty and overall quite good food. I think the restaurant needs to consider a more lighter and comfortable dining area off people to dine in and also needs to come across more friendly and welcoming as it didn't feel like that, if anything we felt like we had burdened them by coming to the restaurant.

  Nice place to sepnd the night

  I live in Sydney and stayed at this place. Very friendly and clean and reasonably priced. The hotel is located in a quite street and close to the beaches. Its central location for other amnesties and places to see.

  Very good

  We stayed 3 nights at the hotel in a balcony room at the front of the hotel. The room was spacious, light and airy. The room and bathroom were very clean and the bed was very comfortable with good white bedding and pillows. We were backpacking and walked in off the street and all the staff were friendly and helpful. We had breakfast twice and it was really good, we tried the western and Sri Lankan breakfast both good with lovely tea. The hotel is very near all the restaurants and bars on the beach and the beach is also an easy. I would stay here again if we came back to Tangalle and recommend the hotel as a good value for money and clean option that is central and just a 5 minute walk from the bus station, town centre and the beach.   Best place to stay super clean friendly staff

  We stayed there at 1 night. It was a quick trip, we placed 2 double bedrooms for our reservation. It situated couple of meters from the sea and from the tangalle town. We didnt order anything only we had a bed tea from papa place. Tea was super. Nice calm place to rest your holidays with a cheape price
