  Not quite on Pantanal, but a great choice for the region

  This hotel is too far from Pantanal for daily trips, but it offers a fairly decent base for the region. Clean, helpful staff, good rates (specially compared to the eye-watering prices of Pantanal´s fazendas). Great breakfast in a fly-free environment: juices, fruit, cakes, all that you would expect from a Brazilian hotel. Not so great on noise levels thanks to a nightclub in the neighborhood, but that´s a scourge practically everywhere in Brazil. However nothing that some good ear plugs wouldn't take care of (DON'T travel in Brazil without them), and the atrocious Sertaneja music stopped before we went to bed. The swimming pool is surrounded by trees, so you can take a dip under the watch of parrots and macaws. Great location too, no more than a kilometer from the motorway, on the way to city centre.

  Excellent service, Pretty setting

  Our family of four spent 4 nights recently at this charming hotel. Our rooms were well appointed and the beds, comfortable. We all enjoyed the extensive breakfast and my husband enjoyed the clean, but unheated pool. The staff was welcoming and Douglas was especially helpful with his English and arranging tours. In Miranda there are several excellent buffet restaurants for the mid day meal and there is a grocery store a block from the hotel. We had a rental car that we drove ourselves on the Estrada Parque which was dry and quite passable during our visit. The toucan tree near the city square in Miranda (at dusk) is not to be missed.

  Bad service, dangerous showers, cheating tourists

  We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights after Bonito. positives: clean room, good breakfast negatives: my girlfriend recieved electric shock in bathroom, noone come to repair it, so no shower second day. Lady in reception was only laughing!!!!In the evening we wanted to drink some beers, they absolutely neglected us, we had to open the bottles ourselves with own accesories. We wanted also visit Pantanal - estrada do parque, manager arranged some guy, 4 hours, no service, 500 reais. And in the end - during our check out, they wanted to pay it one more time. For the owners: This is not the way, leart at Bonito. For other travelers: Pantanal is nice, book your tour in Bonito, or do it by yourself - you can drivexestrada do parque with normal vehicle - no problem (had Ford Ka)
