  Cool & Friendly Artist / Designer Run Place in Nimmanheimin

  I stayed here for one week - rooms are really cute with designs painted on the wall. Very friendly and helpful staff, but very minimal English spoken. Run by a young woman designer - a great place for a solo woman traveler. Small and personal. Great location in Nimmanheiman - walking distance to many shops, bars, and restaurants, but not touristy. This place had a really nice feeling - I changed to this hotel after I arrived in Chiang Mai and could take a look at places in person.

  Budget, quirky & kitsch

  Cute guest house, quirky design. Stayed for 3 nights and turned out to be a good location for sight seeing in Chiang Mai. Stayed in the Captain's room - odd mixture of aeroplanes, action figures and Hollywood posters - but generally basic and functional. No housekeeping in the days I was there, so if you want clean towels, bins emptying etc you probably need to request it. Girls were very friendly & helpful, breakfast a bit hit and miss. If you're on a budget and fancy something a bit unusual, try it out. The neighbourhood is full of cute boutiques & cafes - but take a business card with the address in Thai out with you, as I found most tuktuk drivers & taxis couldn't find the place.
