    Lovely setting, food and staff.

The staff at this hotel are great: really helpful and friendly, arranging tours, transfers and making food with smiles on their faces. And the food I had was fantastic: the caprese salad especially was amazing. It's clearly been re-modelled recently: the pool and surrounding area are quite serene and thoughtfully done. However, the rooms are clearly a bit older and the mattresses nowhere near thick enough for the hard-wood beds underneath.

Great hotel, so glad that weve chosen this place

Hotel is really good, located 5 min away from Alona Beach and all restaurant ( I recommend Dumaluan beach though - 5 km away) but you can book tours, get something from a convenience shop or go out for a drink in the evening and everything is within a walking distance. They give free lift to Alona Beach by tricycle up-till 20.30. Rooms are clean and alright generally (not very posh but alright) they provide beach towels and pareos (they are changed everyday for fresh) swimming pool area is lovely you can really rest in there. You can get a massage as well its cheaper than on the beach and lady will come to your room. Food is really good and the best we had in Bohol. Portions are generous. I liked Caesar salad especially. Just breakfasts were basics, nothing special but OK Finally staff, staff is amazing and very helpful. When one of us stepped on a sea urchin they gave us vinegar and basin to soak feet in there. When we had sunburn they cut fresh aloe Vera leafs for us. Generally I really recommend this place and Im happy we stayed here

    Very disappointing customer service

The hotel is nice and in a good location but the customer service was terrible. There was no hot water the first night and then no water for an hour the following day. They organised us a tour to the chocolate hills and charged us 4000 pesos. The driver had a card in his car that said it was 2500 pesos. We disputed this with the hotel and they said the 1500 extra was a hotel fee ie a 50% fee. There was also no guide included in the tour. Very, very disappointing. I would not advise staying here.

    Small, nicely run hotel

We stayed in their villa for a week. There was a nice kitchen area and seating area which gave us plenty of room. It was difficult to use the kitchen much because of all the ants that would show up, but that was anywhere. Just had to make sure you didnt leave anything out with a smell. The bathrooms were set up into two rooms which was interesting. One had a sink and a toilet and the other had a bath, a shower and a sink, but no toilet. The bedroom was nice. Big enough for two doubles and two singles. They brought in another bed for one of our children. We were made to pay an extra fee ($517usd for 6 nights) on top of the $123 a night payment, so I was glad that it included another bed. When I booked the room it actually said two king beds that would have worked just fine for two adults and two kids, but that wasnt what we received and there was no way that two kings would have fit in the room. One of the normal doubles had a pretty bad dip in the bed in the lower back area, almost like the bed was starting to break down in that area only, but I traded beds with my husband as I was lighter and could sleep around it and it all worked out. It is Japanese run and seemed to cater to the Japanese. It was nicely decorated in a Japanese style. The cleaning crew was amazing and did a perfect job. The place was always nice when we came back from diving. The food at the restaurant was average and included most of the same things that the local businesses offered except with their own flare. I really wasnt a fan of the food there. They had an American breakfast, rice porridge or a club breakfast sandwich with egg and ham and veggies in it available for the free breakfast. Im a vegetarian that doesnt eat processed carbs like bread and pastas so breakfasts didnt really work for me. The do charge for shuttle service. It was 600 pesos for a ride if you had three but it went up to 1000 for four, which was kind of crazy because they brought the same small vehicle, we just had to smash everything in. We opted to get our own ride back to the airport and were only charged 600 pesos. All in all, they it was a nice place to stay, very attentive, always opening the gate for us, saying hello and trying to be helpful. We did feel a little out of our element because we were not Japanese and seemed to be the only ones that were not, but it didnt seem to bother them so we didnt let it bother us.
