  Real gem

  I really enjoyed my stay at The Tropic. First, it is very small with only a few apartments which meant it was quiet and peaceful during my week there. Wayne, the manager, was friendly and helpful. The location is good, about five minutes from the shore where there are lots of restaurants and 10 minutes from the netted swimming area. There is also a saltwater pool at the hotel. I did not have a car but it was easy to catch a city bus to a nearby shopping centre. The apartment was well equipped with a lovely small, completely private balcony. My only complaint was that some of the appliances were rather shabby and overall cleanliness was less than perfect (toaster crumbs in the cupboard, lipstick on a glass - nothing too bad). Would definitely stay there again.

  Great place to stay.

  Booked for 5 nights and ended up extending extra few nights. Great base for all the sights of upper north Queensland. Not far from Cairns. Close to beach, tavern and eateries. Great setup and comfy bed.

  Good location, room OK

  Stayed here one night while on a holiday in Australia, with my wife and two adult sons. On the plus side the property is in a good location, a block inland from the southern end of the town esplanade. Restaurants and shops are a short walk away. At the same time, being a block away means a quieter property and more peaceful experience. Another thing I liked was the pool area. The posted pictures accurately portray the beauty of the landscaping. On the downside, the kitchen and bathrooms were constructed with low end materials, Formica everywhere. Also, the dryer didnt work unless it was loaded with only 3-4 pieces of clothing. Still, if you don't need super-fancy accommodations, this is a good place to stay.

  Top place to stay

  What a gem of a place to stay . Close to the action and restaurants but just far enough away in a quite street great pool and B B Q area With fridge, sink and power points.comfortable rooms ,helpful management. So enjoyed our stay there

  Great place to stay

  Nice tidy, Picturesque place. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Good shower, laundry and kitchen. Very friendly and helpful staff. Close to all the facility. Very pleasant place for a wonderful holiday.
