  A fantastic, family run, guesthouse, half way up a mountain!

  My family, (2 kids aged 6 and my wife,) my mother in law, my sister in law and her husband and their 13 year old son, spent the Christmas week at Paletti. From our open armed welcome to the (almost) teary goodbye, we had a wonderful time here. Heinz and his team went above and beyond to make our stay as relaxing and informal as possible. Nothing was too much bother. Heinz often spent time sitting with us, (in our own little sunken area in the dining room), laughing a joking, telling wild stories and playing well the part of a gracious host. And although we were in our own private area off the main dining room were never forgotten or overlooked (drinks arriving almost magically at times!) and came to appreciate the secluded area as it allowed us to relax fully and enjoy the whole family feeling of the place even more. Our kids had a fantastic time in our area, playing cards, watching their iPads and building houses of cards (with beer mats!) without the worry of disturbing the other diners. The food was delicious and plentiful. Something different every evening. Mouth watering cakes in the afternoon. A decent 'German/Austrian' breakfast which kept you going throughout the day! The location was perfect for those wishing to ski. Situated a stones-throw from the main gondola to take you up the mountain. A midway station with gentler slopes for beginners and then to the top for more challenging slopes and a wonderful hotel to sit outside in the glorious sun, overlooking the main ski area, with a beer or Glüwein and some more good, energy-giving food! Paletti is a 15-20 minute drive from the main road and Uttendorf, all up hill and lots of 'fun' hairpin corners where the views are stunning! We all had an amazing week over Christmas at Paletti. Highly recommend for an authentic Austrian Guesthouse experience. Thanks Heinz to you and your team. Maybe we'll see you again soon? Fingers crossed.

  Nice weekend with a beautiful place and a cool staff

  We arrived with my friend for a long weekend (24 June-26 June). The road up to the Gasthof is very curvy and amazing (180-200° turnings on a narrow road :) ), but it's worth the drive because the place is simply stunning. The air is clear and delicious, the nature is vibrating. The staff is warm-welcoming, the manager (?) Hans, does everything to make you feel comfortable. when showing us our room on the 1st floor, he realized that my friend is more than 2meters tall, thus the bed in the room will be short for him. Quick solution by him: we got the room 8 on the second floor, with the biggest bed in the hotel :D Nice! Since the kitchen was already closed and there is no other store near, he brought us some fruit, cheese, some biscuit and a bottle of water. :) The room was very cozy, with a big terrace and TV. Wi-Fi is available only in the restaurant on the ground floor (ask for the password). Breakfast was included, many many kind of delicious appetizers (muesli, yogurt, fruit, bread, butter, sausage, eggs, etc. see for yourself on the pic I attach). The manager was entertaining us all the time :D He can speak German, English, a little bit Hungarian and Czech also :D. The restaurant is so beautiful with all those old-fashioned ski-equipment and with the nice-relics of the people who stayed there for a few days. It is like a little family. Around the Gasthof Paletti is an alpine summer landscape that almost cannot be topped. Hiking, mountaineering, mountain bikes and swimming those are some of the most popular activities. Spend an active or relaxing summer holiday in the Weißsee region. Its the most wonderful time of the year.

  Not the best

  The service was good and quick, but we have to wait for the waitress. The meals could be better: the kaiserschmarrn was not freshly made, the carrots in the soups were raw, the ham was chewy. The toilets were a bit scarce.

  great atmosphere & host!

  "A holiday amongst friends " is not only the slogan @ Paletti, it is above all the way Heinz, Franz & staff treat their customers. Really enjoyed our stay: great location and an even better kitchen! Absolutely recommended.
