Budget OK, but for us not worth the high marks it receives

This place left us with sadly mixed feelings. We could feel the deep ambitions to turn an old palazzo into a design hotel. However, we also saw that place is crumbling at a faster pace than what the proprietors can keep up with. Outside is simply a ruin except of the right wing that hosts most of the facilities. Inside resembles a noble arch in proud decay, but upon detail look there is just a lot of bad craftsmanship in the restauration. Rooms are stylish, but we are afraid the good looks wont last long. Cleanliness was mixed. Dont rely on the garden. It is a mess with a filthy Jacuzzi. Staff was truly nice, professional, and helpful. Breakfast was out of the ordinary: Focus on Italian pastries, fresh fruit, good coffee. There were even Sicilian oranges to make your own fresh juice! Parking was free and reasonable on the road. Early in April the village felt mostly empty and deserted. We found a nice little restaurant on the beach road, though. In total, the city of Patti is an opportunity that can be missed. In honesty, we did not feel that the hotel was worth the very high marks it received. Price was OK. To be fair, one also needs to take into account that Palazzo Sciacca classifies only as a B&B and not as a 4* hotel. Sadly enough, the hotel left us with too mixed feelings to come again.

    Vacaciones 2016

    weekend getaway

I loved the location: could even catch a look at the beach from my window. I've been trying hard to sleep at palazzo Sciacca without too much luck. Finally, here I was! The palazzo has been restored yet conserving the typical 8th century beauty! I took lots of pictures . It was rather noisy on Saturday night: people stay out till early morning:,especially the teenagers and youngsters. The rooms are beautifully restored, however, the mattress doesn't meet my expectation and I didn't sleep comfortably. I ended up having dinner at an exceptional price of 18 but consisted of a family meal w/o choice and bottled water. An antipasto with tomatoes on bread, one dried tomatoe on bread, one slice of bread with olive oil and tiny pieces of cheese . I enjoyed the fresh potatoe fries on a stick. First and only course was an express risotto with frozen shrimp. The mignon cakes followed the first course. The breakfast was good. This is a family run management bandb.

    Not the classic b&b

We stayed for three nights in this old palace, the rooms are new, they look like hotels rooms and they offer all the confort that you can usually find in a hotel (not the classic b&b room). The palace is at 50 yards from the beach and near many restaurants and bars. The staff is very courteous. Breakfast is served in the garden where a chef is awaiting guest to propose her specialities ranging from homemade apple pie, fresh fruit, yogurts to eggs and bacon cooked to order. The only downside was the wi-fi that for technical reasons didn't work fo the whole stay and the lack of parking spaces even though it wasn't't that difficult to find parking spots nearby.

    Great place!

We stayed a week in three rooms while visiting family in the area. The room were spacious, modern and clean - very comfortable & private. I loved opening the windows onto the courtyard. A very friendly staff offered a perfect leisurely breakfast each morning - when they might help you plan your day or answer questions about the area. A very local interactive experience with shops & restaurants & a beach right there.
