Excelente alojamiento!

Centrally located generous and reasonable hotelLocated only a few minutes walk from Centro (Piazza della Repubblica), this hotel was more like B&B with friendly staff. They were very generous to offer a free parking space (maybe not in high seasons) across the street. Since we visited in early April before the town gets crowded for flower competitions etc., we had to sympathize with the staff for having to work on everything for only a few guests. Rooftop terraces had great views of part of the town downhill.

DisappointingHow does this place get 4 stars is a mystery. Great location in A town that does not offer much. The place smells and feels very outdated. I cannot remember the last time a saw a card offering international call service. The internet connection is slow beyond belief. Worthless. The bathroom, a disaster. Difficult to adjust the water temperature. The tub is moldy and the hair drier barely produces a lukewarm air flow. Not functional. The hose is attached to the hand piece with Saran Wrap. I do not recommend the hotel.

Charming, old-fashioned Palazzo in great location! We stayed 3 nights at the Hotel Palazzo Bocci and had a very pleasant and comfortable stay. The hotel is charming and the staff are wonderful, going out of their way to provide service. There was also free parking in the lot across the way from the hotel - what more do we need? I booked a junior suite with a view to the hills at a very reasonable rate. Others have commented on the hotel as being dated and there is a bit of truth to this, but its also an old building and maintained well. I prefer to think of it as a faded but lovely antique, which has its own inherent charm. The room was a decent size for the 2 of us with a sitting room and 2 large cushioned chairs. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom, while slightly dated, worked well, and there were nice amenities provided. The view, while pleasant, also overlooks the roads (a distance away), as the more majestic views are on the other side of the road. The breakfast rooms are small, but there is a good buffet, providing both savory (cheeses, meats) and sweets (pastries, croissants, etc), and the breakfast staff will make coffee to order. I loved the common spaces, including the large terrace area, with chairs and tables and a few lounge chairs. I agree with others that the WiFi was inconsistent, though, and this would be valuable to improve. But we also found this problem throughout our 5-week trip in other locations throughout Italy. Spello was very busy with tourists when we were there at the end of September, but we did find it easy to get away from the crowds. One of the days we were there we took a fabulous walk along the ancient aqueduct. This was one of our favorite activities of our trip! We had a wonderful time visiting Spello and really enjoyed our stay at the Palazzo Bocci.

Need for improvementIt is advertised as a "Palazzo", this is quite misleading. It does have a nice frescoed room, but otherwise this hotel is quite dumpy. Parking is free across the road, breakfast dissapointing. They did have a nice seating area in the garden. I think this place used to be quite something in its day. It is now badly in need of an upgrade however. The rooms are also particularly void of any charm.
