1 Stormy night at Palace Hotel. My 2 sisters and myself booked 3 single rooms and to our great surprise we all had a room with sea view. The rooms were clean and cosy, 1 had a double bed ! They should however change the window frames because it was very stormy weather and you could feel the wind blowing through the closed curtains We did not try the restaurant , but breakfast was ok with enough to choose from.

A Palace of disgraceThe Palace Hotel in Zandvoort is the worse hotel I have ever stayed in around the world. We had to stand in a queue to check in to be served by the only check in staff member that was more unfriendly that Grumpy himself. And getting into the hotel corridors and rooms, that terrible stale cigarette smoke smell hit us. The smell was in the age old carpets and in the shabby rooms. There has been no renovations in the rooms for decades and the smell in the carpets confirm that they have not been cleaned for decades either. As we arrived late we were unable to get alternate accomodation that was our first choice. This hotel is so bad and not suitable for any travelers

Rooms is shared appartment complex in highest building in ZandvoortThe hotel is in the largest building on Zandvoort, and shares rooms with people who have appartments. The rooms i have had somfar overlook the city. Not very inspirational, but you can see far. The rooms are small, but seem to be renovated. Strangely enough there is no desk in there, so you can not really work there making the hotel more suitable for tourists who only sleep there than anything else. Bathroom is also small. The restaurant for breakfast is a bit minimal. It is a standard buffet, with really nothing remakable. For dinner the restaurant is turned into ZiZo, which is very nice. Overall from a price and quality point of view this is not a bad choice.

Nice hotel, disappointing staffMe and my partner visited the hotel for his birthday. We found an offer through SocialDeal for a cheap stay with breakfast and welcome drinks. As value for money the hotel offers that and more. Great location literally in front of the beach and the promenade. Newly decorated rooms with modern design and cute furniture. Very close to the train station and the supermarket as well. As for our stay there it could have been way better. Before arrival I called and asked , since it was a special occasion for us, a room with a double bed instead of two single ones and it was guaranteed to me. Upon arrival they informed me that this is the room available and if I wanted I could get a sea view room paying additional 30. When we asked the front office team for some suggestions as to where to go and which park to visit the answers were literally one word answers of yes or no with no real interest in hospitality. Later on, as our fault, we wanted to order food a bit late for the local standards. We saw on Google that the hotel restaurant was still open yet when we called the reception to order they informed us it's closed-sorry-bye, with no alternative or trying at least to sound sympathetic. Finally the balcony door was a bit loose resulting in cold winds coming in the room all night making it freezing. The response we had from the front office was sorry and we will try to fix it in the future. I work many years in hospitality and I know how in a hotel a lot of problems might occur that is not the fault of the front office or that sometimes the staff is really powerless to act immediately in situations like these but still there is a difference between people who care to do their job Correctly and in a friendly hospitable way and with those who just work in hospitality as a stepping stone to something else. I wouldn't return to this hotel unless I found again a deal like this and still I would be very cautious with what to expect
