    Excellent price-quality

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Palace very much. We booked a standard room with sea view and small balcony for 39/night (breakfast included). Price-quality this hotel is unbeatable. Breakfast was very good and the staff were very friendly. Free parking outside the hotel after sept 15. The rooms are basic and clean. For the rate we paid it was more than perfect.

    First trip

Come to senigallia our friends said its so friendly! Well just to prove it, it seemed that the staff of the Hotel Palace were out to prove a point, nothing was too much trouble. Hotel reasonably clean and very very convenient for both the vibrate beach scene and a short walk to the medieval town and the super shops. Value for money? Well I cannot say as I didnt look at other local hotel prices but certainly would be in England. Breakfast was obviously continental but it was fresh and plentiful, plates refreshed constantly and it was nice not to be rushed out of the breakfast room. The hotel room was tired in places but nothing to put me off, and the sea view was fab and the three nights went far too quickly for me.

Ok hotel with room for culinary improvement

I suppose having stayed in an excellent hotel up in the hills (see my other review), this was a real come down, as the bar had been set high. We checked in with a heavy heart...but I'll try and be as fair and objective as possible in this review. The hotel is in an extremely convenient spot for the beachfront and has a very good beach setting (minutes from the hotel). The walk into town is very quick - you can reach the centre in around 10 minutes, so for a convenient location, it is good. We paid a little extra for a higher standard of room - it was small and cosy but functional and was fine for both of us. We enjoyed the view from the 4th floor, from which you could look over the Rotunda Mare - the beautiful art deco pier, we have loved over the years. As this is in a central spot, it is close to the action - where concerts take place, so not a quiet spot, but once you shut your balcony doors, the noise levels are absolutely fine. What let it down for us was the food - the kitchen doesn't cater too well for a vegetarian diet and the lack of side dishes/hors d'oeuvres was a real let down, particularly as this is a standard in the majority of hotels in Italy we have stayed in over the years. That way, you can really build up a great overall meal and pick and choose wonderful side dishes to compliment your main meal. There is a great big square table that is left empty during dinner time, save for a few bottles of condiments - when what it really should be offering is an array of enticing and colourful side dishes, that you seem to get everywhere else. They are missing a trick here I think. My partner, who is a meat eater, was extremely disappointed with his choice of meat, as it was very fatty, and so he had to put it aside. I too had to leave my starter and main, as it wasn't that great. With these factors in mind, we immediately changed our half board option to a bed and breakfast only, and were able to find an excellent and affordable wide choice of restaurants in town, that catered well for both of us. The staff on reception and the waiting staff are friendly and generally a cheerful bunch. So the main reason I'm only offering an average of 3, is the food on offer was a let down and could be improved greatly - particularly as Italy has a reputation for being a culinary delight. The dining area is a great space - extremely large, offering plenty of lovely natural light...it could be so much better though. The kitchen needs a re-think and re-invention, to retain its clients and fill up all those empty tables during mealtimes. Perhaps it's a different story during the peak months of July and August, but I have stayed in other hotels, when during May/June the dining area is a hive of activity - sadly, not here....

Clean, great location but v dated & near busy trainline.

Stayed 1 night, booked last minute. Paid over 100 for a room worth less than 50! VERY old fashioned, bathroom & room tiny. Shower curtain (who has these?!) in tiny shower. Bed was rock hard. Trainline v close to window so could hear them. Felt like we were staying in a 70s hotel film set. Little sleep due to trains. Stayed at Raffaello hotel last year - stay there if you can its so much better!
