Palac Pakoszow a ParadiseIam 68 and I can honestly say that for the first time in my life i found my self relaxed in a Palace which gave me a feeling that i was in my own home. For me the ultimate compliment i can pay anywhere. The credit must go to Dr Hartman ,his wife and the attention to detail . The staff are all wonderful and work as one family , as if this was theres. Last and certainly not least the ambiance of this wonderful place saved from deriliction and just saying thank you. We will return. Marek & Liz Rudzinski

Nice palacePakoszow Palace is small oasis in a not so fancy neighborhood, hidden behind a small village, very rural. Overall it is a very nice place to stay in high comfort and with excellent food and wine. Probably the best in a large area. And extremely good value by non-Polish standard. The hotel/palace is a beautiful building and really, really nicely restored, outside and inside. In some parts of the common areas in the main building the furniture is not in synch with the old building with marvelous wooden floors. Rooms are fine and modern with good beds (two singles pushed together and two singles on the loft) and nice and new bathroom. Main complaint: The window is facing the bedroom, though sitting high, lights come into the bedroom, if somebody goes to the toilet. Hmm Also the somewhat noisy ventilator had its own life when working or not. Fine sauna and pool facilities. Wifi free and fast. Welcome (and all reception service) was friendly from the German-speaking staff/manager. We had some really nice food our two evenings, among other beef tartar and especially fois gras. Several also liked the borscht. Pasta was great as well, and so were the saddle of venison. Good selection of wine, though not a single Polish. Dinner service was fine one evening, the next they seemed to forget us several times. Much too long waiting that evening, and several orders (drinks) never went through. It was also a struggle to have enough wine on the table. They really dont oversell. Breakfast was excellent. Main issue during our stay: Very loud music until 2.00 due to celebratings both evenings. It was somewhat audible in the two rooms closest to the banquet hall.

Peaceful Rural SettingAfter staying in major cities for our 5 week trip to Europe it was so nice to stay in a beautiful country area, not far out of Jelenia Gora (even if it was only for one night). Pakoszow Palace is on the outskirts of a quaint village and was so quiet and peaceful with large gardens and views of the nearby mountains. We found the staff wonderful. The same lady checked us in and out and gave us apples to take with us which was a lovely touch. Dinner was very good but breakfast had limited offerings. We stayed in Room 1 and were very happy with our room, comfortable bed and ammenities. We really enjoyed the library also and the collection of books on the area. A beautiful part of Poland to explore.

very disappointingThe place has been renovated but definitively lacks "style". This is mainly due to the staff which is not well trained and does not know what a smile means...Particularly in the restaurant waitresses are particularly rude .The worst part was the check out on Aug.14th when the lady at the reception wanted us to pay before we could look at the bill. When we insisted, we realized that we had been charged almost 100 euros too many while we had a reservation through booking.com and the bill we had signed the evening before for our dinner. She would not even listen and we needed to insist for her to look at the reservation and charge the right price for at least 20 minutes. This is totally unacceptable and she hardly apologised.....
