  Not worth the "savings"

  Stayed here for the Guangzhou Fair and was very disappointed in the hotel. The price, for the time, I thought to be good, but in the long run, it wasn't worth it. Trying to save a little money, I got a room with no window. There are only 3 floors to this hotel, so even though you might see a large building, the hotel only takes up a small portion. The first night I was there, I immediately changed rooms because the A/C unit emitted a loud, constant buzzing sound. A man came into the room and tried to fiddle with it, but eventually, they moved me. I was still in a windowless room, and this one was on the second floor. The second floor, as a person I met there is credited with saying, is the floor where the "activities" take place. I have since learned that there are many hotels in China that have a floor or two with "activities" on them. My room was dark. Only 2 lights worked in the room and the bed was ultra hard. The hardness of the bed would not have been that bad if it had been a new bed. This bed was old, and I could feel every spring in the bed. Well, needless to say, my four nights here I spent most of my time outside of the room. I only came back to the room for sleep. Being on the "activity" floor, I was given the pleasure of enjoying a drunken man's tirade for about 30 minutes at 1 in the morning. The kicking of the next room and the breaking of glass did not make things go much better for me. Location wise, when you look at a map, the hotel is very close to the Canton Fair. The problem, it is not close to anything else for foreigners. There is a side street that has a few places to eat, but unless you know to read and write Chinese, you will have some troubles getting something. There is one Muslim restaurant on that street that has pictures. I ate there one night by just pointing at a picture. Food was OK. In order to enjoy what Guangzhou has to offer, you have to catch a taxi. There are quite a few places in town that are worth going to, but like I said, it's taxi or nothing. You can't even catch the subway, for it is a good 3 km from the hotel. Would I recommend this hotel? Only if there is nothing else available. It just does not have the atmosphere or the comfort for someone to stay. There are plenty of other hotels in the city; you will just have to get a room quickly.

  Stay only if you are really out of budget

  I had opted for a Deluxe rooms which had a big window and a comfortable couch, The standard room doesn't have a window. Anyway, the room was comfortably big and the bed was fine too. The problem is that its right on the highway so the sleep quality id not very good as you can hear the noise of traffic all night. Biggest challenge is communication, if you don't speak Chinese, you are gonna have a tough time here.. I remember how tough it was to ask for a spoon or bread or umbrella. you ask for a spoon (they will get a ticket signed by you that if you dont return it back they will charge 10RMB, similarly 400RMB for asking an iron and so on. I lost a key they charged me 50RMB for that piece of plastic. Check out was a disaster which took around 40mins. PS: Breakfast is hopeless

  Extremely inconvenient location... Crazy rundown rooms

  It sad that hotel is located in Tianhe district ... and its kind of there ... but next to a high way , you cant walk anywhere, cannot cross the road , taxi cannot stop there as well. Rooms are so rundown ... and so dark , I think to hide how dirty the room is And ofcourse 0 English at the reception, but I was expecting it :)))
