    Disappointed

We have stayed at various hotels in this area on many occasions. This was the first time we have stayed at The Ozcan and it will certainly be the last. On arrival the miserable receptionist showed us to a room at the back of the hotel which had not been cleaned. We asked if we could have another room. We were given a sea view room the following day, for which we were grateful. Our new room was far nicer. Throughout our two week stay the hotel would constantly run out of wine, beer and soft drinks. Many excuses were given as to why. The food was bland, boring and not very well cooked or presented. In the end we bought our own drinks and ate out most days and evenings. None of the staff were interested in helping. Some of the staff found it hilarious to put a cat on a beach Brolley and spin it round fast until the cat flew off. This soon stopped when we complained. One evening someone had been sick next to the lift. We advised reception and the sick was still there late morning the following day. If you want a dated sunbed then make sure you put your towel on one before 6am. The hotel is generally in need of repair and better infrastructure. Most toilets around the hotel stunk. The worst thing about this hotel was that we had a phone charger stolen from our room. The manager just laughed and said his staff did not steal it. The phone charger was a new rapid charger. We had left two in the room and one was taken. This was not mislaid by us, we are very careful with things like this, but did not feel it necessary to put the chargers in the safe. I told the hotel manager if it was not returned then I would mention it on TripAdvisor and also advise people not to stay where staff steal things. He was adamant his staff had not taken it and blamed us for losing it! Turunc is a lovely village with many genuine locals and places to stay. It is just a shame that this hotel let's down a lovely area.

    Avoid at all costs

Had to stay here for our last night after our orginal place had over booked. 1 Positive... they let us have a wrist band earlier so we could use the restaurant and bar. Rooms at the front are newer so i can imagine they are nice. The main hotel over the road, well i can only say ive slept in a tin shed on a greek campsite that was better. Terrace over looked a car park. Doors didnt shut properly. Everytime the door was open ac went off. Bathroom chocolate brown from the 70's. Was off the main atrium could hear everything in the reception area. 1 bar by poolside. Drinks watered down. Toilets were disgusting. Food was basic but edible. Far nicer places to eat in Turunc. Spoilt by Russian guests ,no manners rude and well just awful.. Avoid like the plague horrid hotel

Be warned .... don't stay there

Ive just returned from a 7 night stay at the Ozcan Beach hotel and my advice to anyone considering booking would be DONT. The hotel is split into 2 buildings divided by a main road. On arrival we were told that a sea view room was not available until the next day. We were therefore given a ground floor room near to reception. This room was small and dark. The bathroom had a raised toilet seat, grab rails and whilst there was a shower there was no shower screen or shower curtains which meant that the water went all over the floor when the shower was being used. At approx. 6am I was woken by the call to pray as there is a mosque tower close by with 4 speakers on it all pointing in different directions. I had just started to go back to sleep when there was what appeared to be the sound of scooters passing by closely followed by the sound of the bin men emptying the bins. At this stage I just wanted to go home as I had visions of being woken up at the same time each morning. The call to pray takes place at least 5 times a day and it can be heard all over the resort. I was also informed that the bin men come three times a week. The sea view room that we were given the following day was dated but it was bigger and had a proper shower cubicle. The view from the room made up for the fact that there were stains on the wallpaper which was coming off the walls in places. Also, the door to the balcony made a loud grinding noise when it was being opened and shut. This must have been heard in our neighbouring rooms. As there was a gap between the door frame to the entrance of the room itself, I did wonder if the building was suffering from subsidence. There was only one plug socket in the bedroom, so we had to take it in turns to charge our phones etc. Even though the room was in a different building I was still woken up 5 mornings out of 7 by the call to pray. The drinks available at the Ozcan were limited and as I do not drink alcohol, I asked on the first day if I could have a fruit cocktail. The barman looked at me, went to the fridge and produced a carton of milk so I guessed that they did not have any fruit juice and I was correct as the only fruit juice that is available is squash. My choice of drink was therefore cheap cola, lemonade or Fanta. In desperation I decided to make my own iced coffee much to the bewilderment of the bar staff. Halfway through the holiday I became aware that they did have Pepsi but you had to specifically ask for it. My friend informed me that the draught beer tasted like it is well watered down and the wine is more like sherry. My friend asked if she could buy a bottle of wine as we had seen someone with one on their table. She was told that she would have to buy it from the supermarket. The choice of food on offer was extremely limited and 99 % was the same thing every day for most meals including breakfast. Cold sprouts were available twice a day and there was an abundance of watermelon in fact this was the only fresh fruit available which lead us to believe that it must have been cheap to buy. Omelettes were prepared daily as were pancakes which became thicker as the week went on. On our last day a lady reported that she had found a piece of glass in one of her pancakes. The manager immediately spoke to the chef who then continued to use the same pancake mix when the manager walked away. Most of the hot food was served lukewarm. Whilst there are small squares of cakes available for dessert at lunch, afternoon tea and for the evening meal, they all tasted the same no matter what colour they were. On the positive side we had a good banter with the staff especially Kadir who went out of his way to talk to us. We did wonder if this was because most of the other guests were Russian. Kadir worked every day that we were there, and he was constantly keeping an eye on the other staff and making sure that things were carried out. This was needed as when the number of people staying at the hotel increased there was a definite change in efficiency as the kitchen seemed to struggle to deal with this. The beach is pebbly meaning that you must wear shoes when walking on it but there is a jetty on which you can sunbath with steps into the sea. Turunc is a small resort and the local people are very friendly. Public transport is easily accessible and there is a watertaxi. There are plenty of restaurants and bars and the prices seemed reasonable for a holiday resort. I apologise for the length of this review, but I would not like anyone to make the same mistake we did by booking to stay at the Ozcan Beach hotel.

Me and my family stay at the ozcan as a last minute hotel for our holiday to turunc. This hotel is more like a bed an breakfast. Needs major updating. Wall paper peeling off the walls and the bathroom has mould in the shower. Toilet not even screwed to the floor. But if you want basic and somewhere just to put your head down. A room with a bed this is for you. No expectations. The food is totally not like the pictures. And very basic. We ate out every night. The drinks very watered down. And tasteless. The hotel is split in two. One having nothing to offer apart from your room. You have the restaurant and the pool across the road. No sunbeds around the pool as this is more for dining. Just table and chairs. So if you want a lounger has to be the beach. Which was no fun for us as we had my little niece with us. So this hotel is not for kids. But we did find a hotel with a little pool and loungers that let us use there pool. The hotel is more of a Russian hotel as we where informed by visitors to the resort. But this didnt seem to bother us. As english we adapt. Turunc is a lovely little village and we have been here before. Much entertainment.in the local bars. But the bars at time where very empty seemed only the english like to spend money. Many nationalities dancing in the street but reluctant to go into the bar to have a drink. The rooms where cleaned when requested. So no issues there. Our room looked onto a bar called maydans this bar seemed to be packed each night full of english. Totally recommend friendly staff and nice pink gin....so please do your research cos the pictures posted are not how this hotel is.....

    Couldn't find anything negative

Can't real say anything negative as it was quite cheap. Overall it was a good break. If you want English food all the time holiday in England! the majority of the food is Turkish which sometimes for us english is a bit confusing for instance why you would have salad for breakfast but you'll be suprised how much a change can do from eating weatabix. They have plenty watermelon and I had turkish delight with my breakfast this morn. Yes some food is repetitive but its all the stuff avaliable to them. Plus in current climate makes sense not to go over the top and waste food. We stayed in room 419 ask for this room if you want a real cultural experience and this room is great if you want to hear call for prayer through the speaker tower. The room looks like its just been refurbished and is clean and bright, curtains are black out, fab air con in the room, bedding and towels were changed most days and the cleaning staff did a wonderful job the hotel was clean. The staff were friendly some more then others but it could just be the language barrier but quite alot of there staff do speak several languages. We have stayed in alot of hotels and yes this has not been the same as other hotels we stayed in in turkey but couldn't really find a fault for the star rating the hotel is and the price. My son would say the pool was dirty but it wasn't it was just some sand in the bottom from the beach. They are doing An amazing job and have strict measures in place for the current circumstances thank you
