  Terrible stay - checked out early!

  Booked 2 rooms for 2 nights for my teenage son and I. On arrival in the evening my son took a shower in the twin room only to find that the steam had highlighted the message "I'm watching you" on the bathroom mirror. Not surprisingly he found this extremely unnerving to the point where I slept in the other twin bed that night, leaving the double room we'd booked unused. The twin room itself was poorly presented and unclean - large, unpleasant stains on the bed base and carpet, tears in the net curtains, a bedside light with no plug to put it into.....extremely disappointing and not reflective of the amount paid for the stay. On arrival we tried to book breakfast and were told since we were the only guests who wanted breakfast we'd just have to go to the coffee shop over the road instead. When we came down early Saturday morning (we were leaving to go out for the day) there was noone in the bar or restaurant area for me to complain to. I tried phoning during the day but noone picked up. I raised my concerns as soon as we returned that evening but at that point had already decided to check out and stay with friends for the second night as the stay was so unpleasant. I was promised a call back re my complaint which never came....after days chasing I was told no refund or reduction would be offered (I'd settled the full amount in advance of my stay). Despite numerous calls and emails I've had no replies. Absolutely terrible service, appalling rooms - avoid!

  such a great find!

  great place. I'd call it a boutique hotel attached to a stunning bar and restaurant. They are so friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and had everything you need for a short stay (it's not a palace so don't expect that). The staff were super friendly and they even allowed us to check out late as we had a wait until our next stop. And the location is fantastic. There are some of the best restaurants in Poole within walking distance. And the host was delightful. Can't recommend this enough for an all round experience.

  Nice hotel

  Stayed at the ox hotel for one night room was a good size with a kettle and biscuits. Bed was comfortable and shower was hot had cooked breakfast which was very good and plenty of it Owner was very welcoming and friendly

  The Ox poole

  I stayed at the Ox hotel for one night. That was enough when I got to the hotel there was on LG one staff member on the front desk. I asked to check in but was early so I asked for a coffee. This took about 20 mins as the coffee machine was playing up. The staff member came out and said she had to sort out a delivery. When she came back she said the coffee machine did not work and made a normal one. This came out with the cup and scourcer not clean. I got the keys to my room which was a side room which had views of the back alley of the hotel. The chest of drawers was in a poor state, the curtains were hanging off on one side. The skirting needs cleaning very dusty. I went for a shave but could not as the lighting is to dim. The shower is set at a warm temperature. It came to night time so I sleep with the window open as its to stuffy in the room. The noise from the road and the chillers/ ducting at the back. This keep me awake I could not sleep. When I got up in the morning to drop the keys off I was not even asked how my stay was . I was to tired so I left without having a discussion on my stay

  Cold room

  Parking difficult in the cramped car park. The hotel had just opened after lockdown, and a refurb, the bar and restaurant were beautiful, and I was so excited about the room, what a let down ! Freezing cold, rattling sash window, on the road.Badly chipped bathroom tile, toilet roll holder hanging off wall, when you turned on the tap you got soaked! Plus side - hot shower and bottles of water. 1st time ever I didn't take any photos! Too upset, and not cheap.
