    Great Traditional Hotel

We stayed at this hotel in a traditional Japanese room during our trip to Hakuba for snowboarding! The room was clean, super hot and the reception desk really helpful on anything we asked. Bus terminal is 5 walk and there is a Hakuba47 bus stop exactly outside the hotel. Wi-Fi was good as well. Nice breakfast and the Onsen was what we needed after a day of snowboarding.

    Well located, comfortable and clean

Stayed at Hotel Ougiya for nine nights. Friendly Staff, delicious varied breakfast, close walk to the bus station if you want to travel to the other resorts in the area. The onsen was super after a hard day of riding. I would definitely stay here again.

    Amazing care and attention

We stayed 5 nights (late Feb) in a room with twin beds and an additional lounge/bed. Room was clean and very spacious with a couple of chairs and table to sit and look out at the mountain view (worth asking if this is available). Was great to look out in the morning to see what weather to expect. Bathroom had separate shower room with a bath tub, separate toilet room and then basin area. Onsen very good. Ski storage and drying room together in one big room - can lock skis, although no one worried about it. Owner of the hotel provides wonderful care for the guests offering advice on the area, timetables, restaurant recommendations, called ahead helping us with our next leg of the journey and even cooked (he is an accomplished chef) a degustation dinner for us and another couple - delicious!! Get your lift passes through the hotel for a good discount. We typically walked the 10min to the bus terminal when going to other mountains and put our shoes in an on mountain locker (200 or 300 yen) while skiing which made travelling around more comfortable. Breakfast at the hotel was very plentiful with many options - always an egg dish, hot dishes, japanese breakfast, toast, fruit, yoghurt, coffee & tea and much more. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.

    Pretty Average

Pros: -Ougiya have traditional japanese feel to it which is great after spending most of your time with Ozzies everywhere in Hakuba. Nice tatami mates and paper windows. -Good balance between western and eastern bfast -The location is great and works well being between the main local area and snow mountains. - Not that hard to catch a bus or walk up to the evergreen area. Would suggest training through evergreen- very friendly. Really convenient going to Hakuba 47 with a bus stop outside the hotel. -Having their own onsen is great. The other ones in Hakuba are better but at least this one is onsite and close. -the ski/snowboard dry room is practical Cons: -I didnt get a discount that i could of from them because they didnt respond to the messages i sent them twice through their webage. Better off emailing them from your own email to info@hakubahotel.com rather than their system. - The materials are basic in the room, still all you need but basic -the downstairs area isnt hygienic with patches of water and mould on the walkway. -the reception in general is not very helpful - when booking a discount room from bookings.com the pictures online are not accurate to the facilities in the cheaper rooms only the more expensive ones.
