  New, huge hotel close to the beach

  We´ve been to the Baltic Coast around Dierhagen numerous times and were quite surprised to find such a big hotel. It is not so high but rather long. Rooms are big enough, comfortable and clean. The style is somewhat a mixture between stylish simplicity and ease of use for disabled or elderly guests. So the average guest were retired couples. There were also some families, though. The pool is great fun. The water temperature is perfect even for kids and the room temperature is also nice. There is a sauna with three different sauna rooms, which are heated up on request. Breakfast was nothing special but ok. We missed a fridge in our room.

  Deserves more than an overnight stop

  The Ostsee Hotel had a clinical feel to it - a bit like entering a sanitorium - and to my eye the building had a touch of East German/Soviet styling. However the room was very spacious and the bathroom/wetroom was a very generous size. Everywhere was clean. There was lots you could do there: swim, have massage physiotherapy and cosmetic treatments and play volleyball badminton or table tennis. There was free wi-fi but there seemed to be no air conditioning. There were adequate points for recharging appliances. In the evening we had a buffet meal at the hotel as there was virtually no choice nearby. The setting was attractive as we sat on a balcony that overlooked a pond and some woods. The meal was very nice. Very good breakfast but no bacon. It was a short walk to the beach. I could see this hotel as a very nice relaxing place for a long week-end or weeks holiday.

  Nice Hotel however not in Rostock

  Hotel is in a quite location and is nearer the sea than first thought. However beach is shingle and sea can be hard to get out due to drag back. For nicer beach you need to go to Warnemunde. We were on a cycling tour and I am not sure how easy it is to get to without transport. Rooms were nice, on the ground floor which could also be exited by french window. Breakfast good. We ate in the restaurant both nights ( the alternative was to cycle the 5.5 k back to warnemunde). The food was very good had sibling and zander. The second night they had put on a BQ pork,chicken fish etc. with salad and for a desert a fruit compote Service in restaurant very good. The reason for the title arrived in Rostock only to be told the no hotels available fully booked, ditto in Warnemunde itself. Can pay by credit card. ( in what was E Germany cash is king). In the restaurant we were told we were the only credit card payers.

  Very nice spa hotel at seaside

  Although there for a family visit we did not use the amenities as available. However we could see it was looking well. The hotel was fully booked but did not feel full or extremely busy. Nice bar and good breakfast. Just 300 Meter to a great beach.

  Very "corporate" & professional

  We had dinner at the Ostseehotel and were impressed by the "professionalism" of the staff and the "smart" appearance of the hotel - but it totally seemed to lack any "personality". Not the sort of hotel we would choose to stay at. Sorry
