  Lucky night

  We only got to stay here due to the weather causing our flight to be cancelled, the lovely staff at kefalonia airport found us a room here, this was during the recent exceptional weather experienced on the island, there was no electricity, this was island wide, so there really was nothing the hosts could do about it, the room was clean & when we finally got to see out in the morning the view was great & we were on the ground floor, must be amazing from the upper levels, anyway the owners could not have been more friendly & helpful, the attitude of all was much appreciated by us under the circumstances of our visit, really cannot praise these amazing people enough, I even got some hone grown peppers to bring home! Its a place I would love to go back to by choice, the warmth of the welcome was typically Greek, you are made to feel very welcome & nothing is too much trouble, sadly I have no photos as my phone was dying! (Was charged for me in the restaurant where there was a generator) much appreciated

  My Sons wedding

  Thank you so much!!! Oskars was fantastic, providing super value accommodation for my whole family after the weather devastation in the north. A family run business experiencing their own short term electricity problems, provided clean accommodation, fantastic food and most of all, the love and friendliness to my family, helping to take away all the worry we had through hotel cancellations due to the irregular weather experienced. Yanis in the kitchen, Mykos in the bar and Costa front of house, supported by the mum and dad we would all wish for! Cannot wait to come back! By the way, organic fruit and veg, free range eggs best on Kef and the bounty of £6.00!breakfasts put together by the lovely Myke will be their welcoming you all. 10/10 Thank you x Pete & Tracy x

  Stunning views, isolated location.

  Oskars is about 3/4 mile from the start of Lassi "strip". It is a slightly uphill walk to Lassi, along a road with fantastic views and very little traffic. There are no pavements until you reach the edge of Lassi so a torch is essential at night. A taxi back costs about 7euro. The nearest supermarket is over half a mile away, walking back with heavy bottled water etc was not ideal. There is no pool, the nearest beach is about 1/2 mile, but is reached partly using a steep goat-path! - no problem if you're young, big problem if older like ourselves! There is an lovely accessible beach about a mile away, and several more as you go further into Lassi. The main Makris Lassi beach is about 1&3/4 miles away. In the other direction it is a wonderful walk relatively level to the Fanari lighthouse, ~30 mins away. Or if you enjoy walking you can walk up and over the hill and be in Argostoli in 20 mins. Oskars Accomodation is on 3 floors, there isn't a lift. The upper 2 floor have sensational stunning views of Lixouri Bay and the coast beyond. Ground floor rooms have a decent view but partially obstructed by plants etc. Rooms are spotless and cleaned every day, with fresh towels and bedding every 3 days. Some rooms appear to be bigger than others, I suspect we had the smallest(room 1). The balcony is a decent size. The bathroom is small. Very small. The shower cubicle is ridiculously tiny, it is impossible to have a shower with the shower curtain round as most adults would be wider than the shower. To shower, you have to pull the curtain back, and just flood the bathroom in order to have space to move, similar to "the old days" in Greece. On the plus side the shower was powerful enough with plenty of hot water when there wasn't a power cut. There was free wifi and a free safe in the room. Our flight was delayed 24 hours due to Cyclone Janus which devastated parts of the island. We had no power for 5 days whilst repairs were completed, then an electrical storm on the 6th day meant another 24hr power cut! This was of course no fault of the owners. Every morning of no power Mikis gave us boiling water from the bar so we could have a brew in the room, but my sister was disappointed to be charged full price if she had a cup of tea in the bar instead, and again if she had a light breakfast. The restaurant /bar had its own generator so was still open during the 6 days of power cuts, but the studios had no power as there was no generator for these. Which meant that as well as no power we had to put up with a noisy smelly generator fairly close to our balcony going all the time from 9am to after 1am. After 3 days of no power Mikis and Kostas did arrange a generator for 2 hours a day for the studios which powered just the hot water, nothing else. The people of Kefalonia have been through a lot this year, with the Clyclone following Coronavirus shutdown etc, and it seems selfish to moan when so many people have lost so much. It would have been a nice gesture to be offered a refund(which we would have refused) for not having any aircon all holiday, no power or hot water for half of it, and having 1 night less stay, but we can fully understand what financial and other problems the family must be having just trying to keep the business going. The family who run Oskars are lovely people, it was a pleasure to meet them, and we wish them every good fortune with the future. Would we stay at Oskars again? - No, but only because we are now in our 60s and really need somewhere closer to the centre. If we were 10-20 years younger, definitely!

  Lovely relaxing holiday

  Just finished a lovely week here lovely family run hotel Rooms are spotless staff friendly and helpful beautiful views out to sea lovely beaches nearby supermarket nearby within walking distance Will return next year to visit this lovely part of lassi Keffalonia Thank you for making our stay so lovely

  Relaxing stay in the lovely garden

  - Oskar and his wife are very nice and helpful hosts - The garden is incredible: Beautiful flowers, fruits and vegetables of all kinds - There is a small zoo with cats, tortoises and rabbits - Room was big and clean - Awesome ocean views from the balcony - quite and peaceful location between beaches and the village
