Wonderful onsen experienceWe are from Hong Kong. This Onsen hotel is the best one I have ever visited so far. They provided a very nice meals, onsen as well as nice and tidy room for us. The food was really great. Beside that, I would like to rate 100/100 for the foreign staff who helps us so much. He explained all the traditional Japanese onsen culture for us such as meals and room. Last but not least, we are 100% recommend it to you if you are looking for a onsen hotel near this area!!

Extended stay cancelled due to inflexibilityWe upgraded from the normal room booked on hotel.com to one of the superb newly renovated suites..so nice we wanted to extend. Told us one price then increased because it's a Saturday.. no problem. Wanted to stay another night. Price was up..no problem..but I wanted to use hotel.com to book the normal room and upgrade by cash... (I get room credits) but management say cannot... Oh..the suite were available...this inflexibility is no big deal to us..plenty of other hotels to move to. It is a shame because the hotel was wonderful as was the Vietnamese staff My who was trying hard to convince the booking department of my situation..

A memorable experienceExcellent value for money and the facilities exceeded expectations. All the staff were especially polite and helpful - in particular Sebastion, who as the main English speaking host, went above and beyond in making my stay truly memorable. Although remote, the complimentary shuttle both to and from Shizukuishi station makes this the ideal choice if looking to experience a traditional Japanese Ryokan. Highly recommended.

A beautiful Ryokan in a quiet area of Iwate, Japan. Our stay at this Ryokan was wonderful. The Onsen was beautiful, especially the outdoor one when it was snowing. The food at the Izakaya was delicious and homemade from local ingredients. The Ohsuku Onsen area is quiet and secluded. All the staff were helpful, especially Sebestien who went above and beyond to make our stay as convenient and comfortable as possible. Sebestien did pretty much everything for us, from booking the free hotel shuttles to the Station, making dinner reservations at local restaurants/izakayas, calling us taxis, and even recommending things to do around Morioka and Iwate. Sebestien was amazing because he treated us not only as a guest, but as a family member and a friend. I would definitely come back again some day.

Excellent Hospitality and Wonderful Location! This is a traditional Japanese Onsen Inn that I stayed at for the very first time with family and friends. The rooms were spacious to accomodate us. The management of this Inn has hired Sebastion to assist the non-Japanese guests. Sebastian was very knowledgeable, friendly and generous with his time. We are very grateful to Sebastion for advising us on the local region and sharing his enthusiasm for Japanese cuisine, culture and history.
