  Attention to detail

  The hotel was in an idyllic situation , we had a lovely room overlooking the bay . The reception. staff were helpful. Covid rules observed at all times . What was disappointing was being asked to let reception know IF we wanted the room cleaning ?! Now we have stayed at various hotels over the past few weeks and the rooms have been cleaned / freshened and towels replaced ,tea tray replenished as normal ?! We found this quite odd . Breakfast was very average lovely quality bacon but the mushrooms I would say were tinned the toast is brought out on a plate piled up so all became very soggy and we had to send it back on the first morning as it was soggy and barely toasted . Orange juice tasted sweet and of saccharine , questionable quality again . This is not a cheap B&B so breakfast should be of better quality and more attention to detail

  Beautiful setting overlooking the bay

  Great location overlooking the bay. Covid safe Hotel staff are great and make you feel very welcome. Breakfast was superb. The is a nice outdoor seating area where you can bring your drinks from the bar. Tennis court and swimming pool as well but we did not use them but look OK.

  For a place to crash great, for a special occasion dont bother

  For somewhere to crash - lovely. For a special occasion - dont bother. We had high expectations of the Osborne given its beautiful location & 4 star rating. We were excited to spend our anniversary somewhere we could treat ourselves. Unfortunately the Osborne hotel didnt deliver. Room only thing nice about it was the seaview (paid premium rate for - as you would expect) and that it was very clean. Other than that It had a really Basic premier inn feel to it. No information or welcome pack, no temperature control (and it was extremely hot at night), no mini bar, no spare towels or pillows. Basic small tv, only lighting options were full lights or bedside tables. No mood lighting or a lamp for the dresser . Facilities - No room service due to COVID which is understandable, although nothing to notify us of this in room. - WiFi super slow - swimming pool needs repairs and cleaning. Massive hair ball the size of a basket ball floating by our feet. Clinical feel, no natural light. - No towels for guests so we had to use our shower towels from the room meaning they were wet for our shower later on. - Gym used by public, more everyday functional feel than luxurious hotel vibe, again no natural light. - One small restaurant & bar area inside. Decor is confused and place feels like an airport restaurant. - Food was very good although we were sent the wrong main meal. By the time Id finished my partner still hadnt received his main. They did apologise for this and knocked 10% plus a drink off our bill but still, for an anniversary dinner this just added to our disappointment. Overall for the luxurious anniversary trip we had hoped (and paid) for, we were disappointed and will not be going back.

  Lovely Hotel

  Stayed at the hotel in December 2020 glorious room overlooking the bay excellent staff could not fault the preparations that had been made due to the pandemic. Excellent breakfast and dinner during our 5 day stay will definitely return when life gets back to some normality .

  Worth the upgrade

  My friend and I initially booked a standard twin room. Check-in was smooth and COVID measures in place in all areas. The room was a little underwhelming: clean and spacious but a little plain with a nondescript view at the back of the building. We therefore paid a little extra and upgraded to a first floor sea view room...WOW. Enormous bed, enormous corner bath and a glass panel in the bathroom wall means you can look out through the floor-to-ceiling window in the bedroom at the beautiful sea view. This junior suite looked newly decorated and the thick walls meant no disturbances. We stayed in the Coutts room. Didn't dine within the hotel so can't comment on the food. The location is fab: just a short walk from the sea. Town is driving distance, but not far at all. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
