  Nice clean room

  We got there and our room was not ready, were told To go down the street to the Pub. We were ready for diner so that worked good fo us. Our room was quite spacious, clean bed comfortable. Peter was very talkative and also gave us directions to Newgrange. A MUST SEE SITE!!!

  Unfortunate Let-Down

  We had booked two rooms here for two adult couples and were looking forward to a rest after a long drive. It was difficult to park in the front yard, but having finally managed it, I knocked on the front door. The woman who answered looked at me curiously and when I explained we had bookings, told me in a very cursory way that all bookings had been cancelled and I should have checked my email. I was taken aback by her blunt and almost confrontational manner. Rude would be an appropriate description. I told her politely I hadn't received any email notification, but she insisted that it had been sent to all intending guests, with the implication that I was at fault. (Subsequent checking showed absolutely no email with this advice.) She mentioned that a bereavement had occurred and ' nothing could be done about it', before closing the door on us. We were, of course, sorry to hear this, but also affronted by her unhelpful, brusque and unfriendly manner. In retrospect, we are glad not to have stayed there. 'Failte' my eye.

  Amazing Experience

  My wife and I were very pleased to be welcomed so warmly on our visit to Orley House. The hosts are the friendliest and most hospitable people we have met here. The location and venue are amazing. The gardens are expertly manicured. Breakfast was exquisite. A true five star meal. The bacon and scrambled egg was cooked to perfection. The selection of breads was extensive. Also we were presented with a large selection of cereal, fruit and other items. We wish we had spent more time getting to know the hosts. If you want a clean, friendly place to stay this is it

  Just beautiful

  This was our first night after arriving in Dublin late. From the moment we arrived it was great. Friendly, chatty, willing to help and just an overall delight. We were shown to our room and explained everything. Bed was very comfortable! We woke early and were due to have breakfast at 8:30am but went in early to the conservatory and was well looked after. Food was great and spoilt for choice. The conservatory is just beautiful, the flowers and overall feel was special. We thank you for an amazing night and are up for a chat anytime lol

  Unmitigated disaster

  We stayed here because there were some good reviews on TA, although not many from the past year or so. This place should probably no longer be in business. When we arrived at the agreed time, no one answered the door bell. After knocking for some time,if one of the guests came to let us in when the proprietor came, he said that the doorbell doesnt work. No apology, no mention of when it would be fixed. The room was small and smelled of dog. The toilet didnt flush well. The walls are thin we could clearly hear voices in the next room. This place not inexpensive, overpriced considering that it is remote from the town centre. To make matters even worse, the day after we paid our bill and left, they charged our credit card an additional 20 Euros without informing us or asking permission. When I found out and complained, they claimed that a couple should use only the small double bed (see their picture!) and not also the single bed that was in the corner. There was no mention of 2 beds or one bed in the agreed price. What would they have done had I paid with cash? If you still decide to stay here, be aware that it is hard to find. There is a sign on the main road but after turning off, Google Maps says you have arrived but you actually have to go 100 yards, around a corner on a side street to see the small unlit sign.
