  Bien ubicado y trato amable

  Me encanto esté hotel por su ubicación que permite visitar la zona cómodamente. El personal fue muy atento. Las habitaciones limpias y amplias. Sin duda uno de los mejores hoteles de la zona. Volveremos.

  Otra vez en Mariembad.

  Desde que voy a esta ciudad siempre me habia gustado este hotel por lo magnifico de su fachada. Este año he cumplido el deseo de hospedarme en el y la experiencia ha sido fenomenal. En primer lugar por su situacion , está en el centro de Marianske Lazne , a un corto paseo de unos minutos, por un parque precioso, de la Columnada. El hotel es muy comodo y confortable . El personal correcto en el trato. El edificio es precioso y está en linea con todos , o casi todos los de la ciudad. El hotel está en la mitad de la calle mas transitada de la ciudad , que por otra parte es muy tranquila . Deben reservar plaza de garaje si van en su coche.

  Sufficient, but needs improvement

  The hotel building is beautiful and charming, and reasonably well-kept, inside and out. The rooms were clean, and the quality of the furniture and what was included in the room was high. The beds were delightful. The receptionists were acommodating, service-minded and efficient. The possibility to reserve the sauna was a delightful opportunity, and the sauna area held a high quality. What could be improved are a a number of things. 1. The balcony, although very charming, could use a scrub to get all the black spots off, or perhaps a stroke of paint. 2. The room was beautiful, and what was there of furniture held high quality, but it felt empty. There was almost nothing on the walls, and little furniture, which gave it the impression of being naked, including only the bare minimum. A bit more interior, art or just generally more things would have made it feel more homely. 3. The breakfast was simple, too simple in many ways. No fruit, few vegetables, tasteless cakes, water-y orange juice and multivitamin juice. And the fried eggs tasted like plastic. Offering omelettes, smoothies or something extra would also give the guests a feeling of luxury, which would fit the hotel's appearance better. 4. When we tried to book spa treatments, we did not find anyone who spoke English. This would have been a bigger problem, had it not been for my basic knowledge of Czech. English-language skills shold be considered mandatory in an international hotel which markets itself in English. The customer service when booking the treatments was also curt, not in any way trying to make up for the lack of language skills, instead placing the burden of communication on us. Apart from that, the spa-workers in the basement were polite, good-humored and approachable, especially the (only) english-speaker, Stanley. 5. The wifi connection in our room was basically useless. Luckily, we have a Czech simcard with 4G. 6. The biggest point of contention is the price. Although the price offered for the rooms reflects the general price level in ML, it does not reflect the value of the purchase. Due to the points mentioned above, the price for the room, even though it was bought with a discount, seemed overpriced.

  Ghost of former grandeur

  Before 1945, this was the Fürstenhof -- a hotel of great luxury and splendor. That former glory is evident in the architecture, which is really lovely. Today, like the country whose name it bears, the Bohemia still carries many scars from Communism. The furnishings of our rooms undoubtedly ranked among the better sort when they were purchased -- presumably in the mid to late 1990's. Now it all seemed tired, worn out and rather shabby. The bathroom doors were late-Communist-era rubbish, for example. The breakfast buffet was OK, but nothing special -- below average by Western European standards in terms of choices. Add the coffee cups and cheap paper (!) napkins from Ikea and one has to rank this place as bad value for the money. On the up side, the staff was super-friendly. The balconies offer a great view to the park and there is ample parking in a beautiful location.

  This hitel is charming and has an old, historic feeling while being well maintained and clean. Breakfast was good (for Europe) and the massages were fantastic. My issues are that the staff are not friendly and speak very little English. Also, we like to bring our laptop and hook to the TV so we can watch Netflix, Sling, etc. The TV was hdmi compatible, but they have it so you cannot change the input. The biggest reason for the downgrade was they started my wife's massage 30 minutes late. I had already asked for and received a late checkout, but the late start pushed us past that. So I had to pack out without my wife or pay for an extra night. Their error, my stress. Will not stay here again. Too many nice hitels with spas in this town.
