SubstandardProbably is what you can expect for the price, but I would recommend to pay a bit more. My room was about 6 square metres including bathroom. Extra small wardrobe not accessible unless you move the bed before. No shower towel whatsoever in the room. Super soft foam mat in bed. I had back pain after the first night.

Small roomVery poor, extremely small one bed room, bed is so soft I almost drop to the ground. Linen had stains... Disaster all over. Breakfast only cold dishes, no warm egg or bacon etcetera. Not recommended at all!

good te be thereThis hotel is a good place te be for one of more nights.(a weekend) De owners are very kindlyan d tell you about the region. Breakfast an dinner are very well in a good atmosphere. Price-quality is o.k. When it is possible; do not reserve a room on the street site(noise)

Very niceThis hotel is very nice, everyone was very friendly seems like a mom and pop type of hotel, breakfast was included and that was very good, the coffee was excellent. The only negative thing I would say is that there is no elevator so dragging heavy suitcases up the stairs wasn't pleasant.

Nice stay at Oranje Hotel in beautiful Leeuwarden.Hotel is very conveniently located, next to train station. I booked through Expedia, (sorry Tripadvisor) so I wasn't sure if I would get a room I liked (quiet, not facing train station), but I got a spacious room, with fridge, good-size TV, and nice size bathroom. It faced an adjacent wall, but they had painted the wall white and installed a great big banner showing the city skyline - smart thinking! Room was quiet and had windows you could open. Couldn't figure out how to use the thermostat to make the room warmer, but it didn't get too cold. Staff friendly. There is an adjacent, walk-in pub/restaurant, but didn't use it. Only real 'complaint' was the soap and shampoo supplies. You have to squeeze the soap out of a wall dispenser, instead of a bar of soap, and the shampoo/conditioner is combined in one little bottle, of dubious quality. Plenty of hot water available. Be sure to wander through beautiful, historic Leeuwarden. On Friday afternoons, there is a farmers' market in the open plaza next to the Museum. You can buy fresh, made before your eyes waffles. On Saturdays at noon, there is a free (you can tip at the end) English-speaking tour of the town that leaves from the plaza near the leaning church tower. Our guide, Meike, (I think) was very good. Lots of interesting people came from this small town - artist M.C. Escher, and Mata Hari! Lots of beautiful old buildings, as well. Plenty of restaurants where you can sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere of old Leeuwarden.
