  Good Value, Not Exactly the Hilton

  Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Price was very very reasonable. Certain areas of hotel look a little beat up, such as the elevator, which had a strange smell. Also, there is a whiff of cigarette smoke from the heater when you first walk in. Room was clean, though didn't seem as if they were extremely thorough flipping the room. For example, toilet paper was down to about a quarter roll and only one of the holders had a roll on it, so it seemed like it was just missed. Shower lever was faulty, I couldn't shut water completely off, though it didn't matter because I was checking out anyway. One of the towels had holes in it. Wifi was fast and reliable. Hotel was very quiet. Bed was comfortable. Overall, for the price, I got a good value, pretty much what I expected.

  HOTEL FREQUENTLY

  As I frequent hotels often (approx. 75 stays this year) this is possibly in the top 5 and for sure in the top 10 that I have stayed at. Excellent service. Gorgeous lobby, and beautiful clean rooms. Exceeded my expectations!

  Wouldve been a perfect stay but...

  Check-in went well. The clerk was friendly. The room was nice. The clerk recommended area restaurants when I was looking at brochures. The bed was perfect. It should be a five star review. But then the room phone woke us up between 3:00 and 3:30 AM when we were sound asleep. I called the front desk back when I got to the phone and he said someone had reported that we were making a bunch of noise and keeping them awake. But it wasnt us. We never turned on the television or did anything noisy in the room at all. And we were asleep. The clerk could have come to the room and listened at the door and known there was no sound and that whoever complained gave him the wrong room number. But instead he called and woke us up so that as a result we didnt get enough sleep. The manager did apologize, but he shouldve done more like offering me some credit to apply towards a future stay or something.

  Nice hotel, terrible water temperature

  The hotel was nice and conveniently located to the Kansas City airport. Check in went relatively smoothly though the front desk agent had a hard time calculating the total cost and applying my gift cards. The hotel requires a $100 deposit (not an authorization) even with a credit card. Microwave and fridge in the room though I didn't use the microwave. Biggest disappointment was the lack of hot water. After my first of 3 nights I took a shower in at best lukewarm water. I reported this to the front desk. They said that maintenacce would look into it. Whether they did or not, I have no idea. But they never let me know if they did. For the remaining two nights I had similar lack of hot water. When I completed the survey that the hotel emailed me after my stay, I mentioned the lack of hot water. In response I received an email from "front desk manager" saying that they were "sad" about my lack of hot water. Well, if they were really that sad about it, they had adequate chances to fix it. So they really didn't care. For this reason alone I can't recommend this hotel.

  Clean and convenient

  Stayed here on my first visit to KC. I had to fly out of the airport the next morning. I am a BW member and was able to use my points to cover the room and I could leave my car there cheaper than the airport. The location was perfect for a fast shuttle ride to the terminal. The desk and shuttle staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean, updated and had a lovely balcony to see the sunset and rise. The bed was comfortable, shower was hot, tv worked and there was coffee. No complaints at all. I would stay here again.
