  3 and a half stars!

  A good spot for a one-night stopover, clean and comfortable and handy to everything. Have visited Coober Pedy many times, always staying somewhere different, and would stay here again. Reasonably priced.

  Amazing service

  The room was perfectly adequate and surprisingly fairly quiet given its location and how many people were coming and going all the time. A light globe was blown, shower door broken and the place is dated, but it was clean and comfortable with a decent bed, great pillows and served its purpose for us which was to be close to the bus terminal for a super early bus to Alice Springs out of Coober Pedy. There are no taxis in Coober Pedy and we didn't have a car as ours died beyond repair when we arrived in town. As we are in the process of moving to the Northern Territory we had a car load full of stuff in boxes to load onto the bus so being so close to the terminal was a life saver. The five star review is absolutely for the service though. We are so grateful to Christine for all her help - nothing was too much trouble. We had to check out of the hotel we were staying at before coming to Opal Inn because it was too far to walk to the bus with all our things, so in order to avoid having to check out of that hotel at 10am and wait until 2pm to check in here, I rang to ask about the possibility of an early check in and was lucky enough to get Christine who checked with housekeeping and rang me back within five minutes to say there was a room available for us immediately (and, awesomely, it was on the ground floor so we didn't have to lug a dozen heavy boxes up and down stairs). When we arrived to check in, she was super lovely, and printed our border passes and bus tickets for us. We also got given a voucher to use at the hotel there but unfortunately didn't get the chance to use it. Considering the remote location, the price was probably on par with the quality of the room but the service is what earned Opal Inn five stars from us. Thanks Christine, you are a superstar!

  Opal Inn disappointment

  While the staff were friendly and polite, the ammenities(toilet block) was absolutely disgusting. I have no idea why there is a coded lock on the door, no one would want to go in there. We were booked in for two nights but didnt even unpack the camper before moving on to another well known franchise. We will ask more questions in future regarding cleanliness and security of site as neither were up to much.

  Excellent place

  Thanks Michael and your staff. Love coming to the Opal Inn, never disappoints, staff are always friendly, meals are also very good and tasty and even though the hotel is an older one, is always clean. See you on our next road trip

  No 3.5 stars. I give it 5 stars.

  Beautiful clean place. Michael at reception lovely. Had dinner there.10% discount at dinner. Massive scotch fillet. Room clean and quiet. Definitely recommend to stay here. Thanks for a beautiful avo Opal Inn. Would definitely recommend staying here.
