  Overnight get away

  We really enjoyed our Ooramina overnight stay in the Tin Cabin. A short drive from Alice, friendly service, clean amenities and good food. Even though the weather was hot the air con & fan sufficed for cooling as well as a lovely outside breeze through the breeze way of the cabin. A parentie walked past in his morning constitutional as we sat in the breeze way listening to the birds. Would highly recommend Ooramina station for locals to have a weekend away and out of towners to experience the Australian bush

  Farewell meal- Ye gads what a flipping disaster

  As a party of 4 we chose to visit this homestead to have a farewell meal as friends heading back to Victoria From the onset it was a negative experience, our reservation booked online and confirmed was lost in the system. Eventually got a table inside, waited for a menu and some service, lukewarm water in a metal jug and glasses plopped onto table. Menu offered and after making our meal choice we sat and waited for our meals . 35 minute later they were served to us by a young girl, aged 9-10, query how appropriate however we took it in our stride. We ordered 3 scotch fillet, 2 well done and one medium rare and a barramundi with two dude salads. The two well done steaks were charcoal material and the medium rare well done. The barramundi was over cooked and dry, the accompanying rice was dry and at $35 each plus $20 for the two side salads what an expensive non event meal. Steak knives were not provided, we had to ask for them. The air conditioning was not working and it was a sauna inside, that with the noise from a person singing, was not conducive to a pleasant experience. I am normally not so harsh with reviews but geez this was the epitome of what not to do.

  Amazing experience from the moment we got there.

  We live locally and decided to visit Ooraminna Station as we had never been before, and that's definitely something we regret now. This great little gem is right in our back yard. From the moment we arrived we were warmly greeted by the lovely staff and owners of Ooraminna and made to feel welcome and at home. We enjoyed a wonderful Barramundi dinner in one of the most romantic and picturesque settings, and were looked after by the very attentive staff. We stayed in the stone cottage, which surpassed our expectations and had everything we needed. We spent a wonderful weekend away in this very beautiful and unique part of the world. We would defiantly recommend a visit to Ooraminna as it something quite special.

  Valentine's Day under the stars

  I stayed in a swag under the stars at the gorgeous Ooraminna Station. Nicki was a great hostess and the location is unbeatable. I had everything I needed for a fantastic night out bush, just what the soul needed. I would recommend to anyone looking for an easily accessible and comfortable night out under the Milky Way.

  Simply stunning

  We were so glad to hear that Ooraminna had opened up again after the covid closeures last year. Staying overnight at one of the cottages has rightfully been on the bucket list for a while now after having delightful meals and events at various times at the homestead/cinema. The beautiful location never ceases to amaze. We would recommend to others to think about staying two nights and leaning into the quite relaxation you can discover. Thankyou Nicky! We had a lovely time.
