    A very excellent resort

I spent a night at the resort. It was a very nice room, complete with tatami and Japanese tea set. There were staff at this resort that spoke English very well, and those that didn't were still exceptionally helpful. The onsen was very nice. There is a gift store on premesis. Dinner and breakfast (buffet style) were included, but liquor costs extra and is added to your total bill. The only thing that was lacking was available power outlets; the main room only had one available behind the TV. Otherwise, it was perfect. I will be back again someday.

    Excellent Trip

Great Place..better than expected..The public baths are awesome...especially the three step baths. The staff was helpful and the food was great. Try the Japanese rooms. Though not much to do around the property.

    Greatest onsen

We have been last year nearby Hakone . For the same price this year we came to okawaso . The staff was carrying very well . The dinner as the breakfast was in abundance and well presented . The outside baths are incredible especially at night . Renting a car from Tokyo is probably the best solution .

    Nice family stay

Friendly and helpful staff. The room was large and with a nice view over the mountains. The children appreciated the activities including the making of the traditional rice candy. We had the buffet which was really good, in a relaxed environment.

    Amazing onsen on cliff

It takes a while to get there from Tokyo. By JR line we got to Koriyama then somehow caught a local train and I took us over a hour ride to get to another connecting town Aizuwakamatsu. From there you either take another local train and spend 20 minutes to Ashinomaki, and then get a taxi to the onsen hotel, or the hotel offers free shuttle to pick up guests from both stations. We tried both ways on our round trip, as wanted to see the cat at Ashinomaki station. The hotel itself, a few staff speak English very well and I particularly appreciate Melissa receiving us and introduced everything. The rooms are beautiful and when we stepped in the room it was heavy snow and the whole picture was heartbreakingly pretty. The onsen on cliff was AMAZING. The buffet dinner and breakfast was kind of average but it may only be my taste. One of the things I wanted to mention is that the staff seems to be in shortage or? As I saw the same group of staff just served at dinner and front desk and soon they were working at evenings events, and the day after early morning breakfast. I wanted to thank them for their hard work.
