Friendly, Family Atmosphere a huge bonusI found this hotel to be be so welcoming , friendly and so comfortable I immediately felt at home even after a long flight and transfer. The food, pool and service was superb and the family atmosphere enhanced the experience. I had one of the many sea view rooms which offered a fascinating panorama. I would return with no hesitation. I travelled on to a large 4star Hotel in the South and missed the Onar ethos and ambience

Friendly family run hotel with fabulous viewsI'm another Jules Verne customer who was more than satisfied with my stay at Onar Village . The hotel has spectacular views over Kyrenia to the sea . The surroundings are attractive : plenty of trees , a large outdoor swimming pool , and a terrace where you can enjoy breakfast and the view . The staff are very friendly and helpful . The bedroom was large with a balcony ( but beware of the resident cats which like to sneak in if you are not careful ! ) ; the bathroom had seen better days and is probably in need of a makeover . This was the only feature on which I could fault this hotel . Food was good and plentiful , especially the evening buffet .

dated dismal placeArrived late 11pm due to flight delay promised cold buffet not there no food available Room dark and dated with dark wood oppressive cupboard balcony door jammed shut mismatched tiles in bathroom with dirty grouting This place is far out of town nothing nearby only a dual carriageway at the entrance !!! The food is buffet style no chiller for milk cheese butter salads etc and flies all around !! Three choices at dinner all uninteresting who has penne pasta with curry sauce or strange dark looking turkey? Altogether not what we expected at all its only saving grace were the attentive staff

Nothing to write home aboutTripadvisor have limited the length of reviews so I have précised my comments. Scenic car Tours have managed to scrape the bottom of the barrel here. Hotel is in a good position if you have a taxi on permanent call. The road outside is both dangerous and fast. You cannot walk anywhere from the hotel. The hotel itself is old, tired and needs a lot of money spent on furniture bathrooms and function rooms. The food was bad. The staff was good - quite excellent given the circumstances. Harsh review but if you its how you can put a sentence together its what you get.

Pretty good for a 3 star, but watch check-outThe facilities here are pretty good, particularly in the summer. 2 swimming pools, one in and one out, but both very cold in February as not heated. Separate indoor play area for young children. Rooms comfortable. Staff are very friendly - the highlight really. Hotel is leased from the company that runs a cheap Turkish airline - the manager/landlord is very keen to make sure guests are happy. Hotel buffet is nice. Sour taste left in the mouth after check out - closing account was charged against credit card in Euros, and the receipt said I had agreed not to pay in Euros with Turkish Lire being converted to Euros subject to a 3.5% transaction fee. I do not pay foreign transaction fees on my card, so this was robbery. The receipt said I was asked and agreed - I did not. If my card charged transaction fees, I would have two fees, one by the hotel for Lire to Euro and one converting Euros to GBP. This is illegal and day light robbery. PLEASE demand to clear your account in Lire (fortunately, costs are relatively low, so I not in the poor prison!).
