    Delightful stay in Kenmare!

This was hands down the best B&B we have ever stayed in! Helen and her husband were the perfect hosts and their home is amazing. Every room is spacious and welcoming, with beds that offer a wonderful night's sleep. Breakfast is served overlooking the golf course and the whole atmosphere is very relaxing. Kenmare is a short ten to fifteen minute walk away and is a charming little town filled with all sorts of history. Helen gave us great suggestions for the best places to eat dinner and offered wonderful directions and travel tips for our days' adventures. We will most definitely stay there again!

    An Elegant B&B

We had a great stay at the Oldchurch. There are no "cons" - everything is a plus, including: -friendly hosts, Frank & Helen, who gladly share expertise for dining and activities (loved the recommendations for driving the Gap of Dunloe and eating at Foley's) -beautifully decorated rooms in a really beautiful setting (loved the view from the back!) -10 minute walk to main street with lots of choice for eating; not much further for a nice walk to the marina -comfortable bed and fast wifi -tasty breakfast with plenty of choice and generous portions There are a number of possible activities in the area and we easy could have stayed longer than two nights - we highly recommend staying here.

    A perfect place to stay

If you are looking for a lovely little place to stay on a visit to Kenmare and the wild Atlantic coast or as a base to explore this part of Ireland you could do no wrong than book yourself a night or two here. Kenmare is fantastically placed for touring the Beara peninsula and this bed and breakfast just a short walk (10mins downhill) into town. Directly opposite an old ruined church you will have beautiful countryside views as you eat your breakfast. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed and you will have a lovely big full Irish breakfast (or something smaller if you prefer). Helen and Frank are the most welcoming hosts. You wont be disappointed if you stay here.

excellent B&B in a lively town

Kenmare is an excellent base to discover the wild rugged beauty of the Beara Peninsula and the Ring of Kerry. The town itself is lively and interesting with plenty of great pubs and restaurants. I have been visiting Old Church for about 10 years now and Helen and Frank are the perfect hosts and be only too happy to give you recommendations. There is always a warm welcome and the house is bright and spacious and with great Christmas decoration (well i do always go in December). They are lively, helpful the and informative and what they dont know about the goings on in Kenmare is not worth knowing! The house is opposite an abandoned church (hence the name) and the back rooms have wonderful views of the mountains. If you are planning to visit Co Kerry this is definitely the place to stay.

Festive fun in the Kingdom of Kerry!

Had another great pre-Christmas weekend in Kenmare last month, staying as always with Helen and Frank at Oldchurch House. Been staying at Oldchurch House now for 20 years and wouldnt think of staying anywhere else. Ive written quite a few reviews about previous visits (have a look!) and, although Im repeating myself, I cant recommend Oldchurch House highly enough. Great location, superb accommodation, good value for money and the warmest of hosts. Kenmare is an attractive and lively town with lots of nice places to eat and drink, and is perfectly located for the Ring of Kerry or the more rugged and wild Beara Peninsula. Whats not to like?!
