  Bad customer service

  Visited this hotel two years ago and had a great time we were on the first floor round the back couldnt hear any noise at night and slept well. However we came back this year and it was nothing like our first visit we were in a room that just over looked the dual carriageway which has constant 24hr noise. The room had an exposed door with no curtain so the light came in at the crack of dawn. The air con made a on and off squeaking sound. We spoke to the hotel owners on more that three occasions about the noise of the aircon but they did not seem interested and kept saying they would fix it after three sleepless nights we moved hotel .   Had to leave this hotel 4 days before we were due too because the service and rooms is shocking. Impossible to sleep with the combination of busy roads , squeaking air con , boilers, no curtains on windows and cleaners banging about at 8 in the morning.obviously we had to mention this to the hotel owners on several occasions only for them to give different excuses every time basically trying to blame there poorly maintained rooms on us. If they put you in room 206 or any above the bar refuse them !!

  NOT HAPPY

  I would NOT stay here again if I was paid to. The welcome was frosty as was the service. Our bins and bedding werent changed in 4 days so the toilet bin stank. I complained and got told I didnt let the maid in to clean, when I disagreed I was told I was lying. I had to take the bins down myself as I couldnt stand it anymore. Absolutely shocking. Everything seemed like a chore there was no table service. All the staff were sat on one table playing on their phones and didnt even look up when we sat down to eat. We only ate there the once because of it. There were no smiles from any of them I felt very unwelcome and couldnt wait to leave. NEVER AGAIN!!!

  A perfect retreat

  Cant say enough about this family run establishment. For the money we paid, we thought it was amazing the facilities are impeccable ie, the pool bar toilets & the beautiful patio where you can cool off & enjoy there extensive very well priced menu. We miss being there already & wouldnt hesitate to go back. Thanks guys

  Our happy place

  Bit nervous this year because of Covid and all the possible restrictions but I needn't have worried as Irene (the owner) had it all covered and kept everything very safe but fuss free and comfortable. OK this year the cleaner didn't come in every other day as usual but thats to do with the restrictions and keeping everyone safe and it wasn't a problem - plus twice a week is plenty but if you needed extra for any reason you only had to ask.. The hotel is situated on a busy road but it truly wasnt intrusive, when sunbathing around the gorgeous pool i can't say i noticed it at all. Ive stayed in many places in Rhodes but The Old Windmill holds my heart - from the superb home cooked food, to the genuine kindness showed to the guests. A lot of guests, myself included, have been coming here for many years and to me that speaks volumes. For those revievers who have found fault and found it necessary to leave negative reviews i believe it says more about them than it does about this lovely little hotel... See you next year
