  Not What Could be or Should be......

  New owners don't understand what a B & B is all about. You don't just give a bed and put some breakfast breads, cereal and fruit on a table for them to help themselves. Owners not friendly. Poor hospitality. Be alerted ! The rooms have no closets, no hangers, no Clock radio and no TV. All your room will have is a bed, a 2 dressers, a table with 2 chairs and a modest bathroom. Plan on spending your time living out of your suitcase on the floor. We didn't think we were motel type of people but the rest of our stay in OOB we stayed in very nice one! For half the price! Our room had 2 Large rooms. 1 Jacuzzi room with TV. , Refrigerator, Microwave & coffee maker, etc and dining table and chairs. The other was the bedroom and they had in-ground heated pool !. This B & B has nothing to offer even close and they charge double the price. Let me add that the Motel owners had great hospitality. We stay at B & B's all over and this is nothing like anything we have ever stayed. (Example: At other B & B's, Meeting other guest from around the world along with the owners for a sit down breakfast in the morning, is special and interesting). I wish them well and hope they visit a well know B & B themselves to learn. To Top it Off. we got our bill for our stay, They added my deposit to the total instead of subtracting it. I had to explain why this was wrong. I'm sorry for being so harsh and honest. but future guest should know what to expect and than make your decision whether to stay here.

  Like a ghost ship

  Room was reasonable, but the breakfast was barely adequate on the first morning. At 5 pm the Serbian maid, who had not made up our room, told us she was leaving. So on the second morning, having locked up the building the night before, we awoke to find no staff, no breakfast (and no other guests), it was like the Mary Celeste. 4 phone calls to an emergency number taped to the back door resulted in the owner arranging breakfast at nearby cafe. Very unsatisfactory.

  Look Elsewhere

  This was a very disappointing stay. We were so put off by the accommodations and staff that we left after the first of a reserved two night stay. It Appears that the owners and staff have no idea about running a B & B. Check-in was odd as I was ushered into a kitchen, had to stand at a small table while the receptionist tried to work a laptop he apparently was unfamiliar with. He gave me several forms to fill out but there was no place with a flat surface to use to fill out the forms. Check-in took forever. Our room was extremely small with no amenities. The only window was completely blocked by an AC/heating unit that was so noisy we could not sleep while it was running. When we turned off we were annoyed by units running in other rooms. There was no closet and nowhere to put a suitcase. Breakfast was odd. No staff was around to help. The items were sparse, there were no plates, only cocktail napkins and several of the coffee cups were stained from dripped coffee. We decided at that point we were not staying another minute and left. Look elsewhere!

  Old world experience

  This charming Inn which is on the list of National Historic Places was built in 1730. Once inside there is a feeling of traveling back in time in our nations history. I was looking for someplace to stay that was not the usual chain hotel experience and the Old Orchard Beach Inn fulfilled my expectations wonderfully. The Inn is located right at the top of this beach towns attractions so you can walk to everything! The large porch is set back from the street and I enjoyed sitting there to watch the world go by. The staff was more than friendly and would do anything to make my stay enjoyable. If you're looking for a comfortable stay with old world charm I would happily recomend the Old Orchard Beach Inn.

  Heavenly Place with New Innkeeper who is Awesome!

  Best place to stay in Maine! Ocean views, close enough to walk to everything, yet quiet at night. :-) New innkeeper anticipated my every need, making this Historic inn a home away from home. Easy drive for day trips to explore Portland, Kennebunkport, Freeport, etc. Beach is excellent, with great choice of restaurants and cafes for any budget. Lovely living room on main floor to enjoy conversation and coffee. Check out their photos to see the variety of rooms to choose from. I love the beautiful ambiance and charm, thank you for all the special touches that make it so memorable!
