The ONLY place to stay in Jackson, MSI have stayed at this hotel two times now, and I would recommend it to anyone traveling to Jackson. It is a boutique experience like no other. The rooms are each unique so no two rooms are alike. Spacious and comfortable. The street outside can get noisy, so I would advise ear plugs or a white noise machine (phone app) of some sort if that bothers you. The night manager, Princeton, is an ABSOLUTE treasure and delight. After an extraordinarily stressful day, we asked if we could possibly have access to the roof top garden (it was not "open" that night) and he said YES! And made us cocktails. lol We were in the area for a family funeral and were there six nights. Every night I had the pleasure of exchanging pleasantries with him as he got my nightly ice. ; ) Also had a pleasant encounter with the young lady who does laundry (Asia, I THINK? not sure) Asked us if there was anything we needed. Wonderful. When I talked to the owner about these two employees I learned one has been with them for 12 years and the other for 18. This hotel is doing something right!!! Amazing.

Delightful Staycation!I won a silent auction package that contained a one night stay at this delightful hotel. I have been inside this hotel many times before: my high school prom... LORD that was 16 years ago, other charity events, and trips to the delightful rooftop bar. This was a different type of experience. Without trying to depress anyone, I won this raffle in December with the knowledge that my loyal companion, Holly, the best beagle in the world, was nearing the end of her life. Since it was good for a year, I decided to hold this certificate until her passing to be able to get out of my house. I tried to reserve online with the certificate, but I couldn't, but with one short phone call to the VERY KIND individual who was working that evening, I was booked within minutes. I arrived a few hours before my boyfriend the Friday night we booked. The room was on the second floor (The Osaka Room) and the door opened to a lovely - and large- sitting room with a double set of doors that led to a small balcony that overlooked State Street. The bedroom was just behind. Mississippi history flooded the walls and the bedroom setup was exquisite. It was the perfect medicine for my grief. The bathroom was not large but definitely big enough and included a towel warmer... a luxury I have never had the pleasure of having before. The shutters were intricately carved masterpieces. Our bed was so so comfortable. We went to Lou's for dinner before returning to be lazy and enjoy champagne. I slept so well, and even though it was off a busy street AND the MS Blues Marathon was going on the following day, I slept like a baby. It was something special, being a runner myself, to wake up and step onto my balcony with coffee to watch my friends and other runners run in front of the hotel and be able to cheer them on. Breakfast was okay, but nothing to write home about... I think this was mainly because we showed up late. That's on us. There is a lovely courtyard off the dining area for breakfast that you can sit and enjoy as well. The rooftop bar was closed since it was February and still a bit chilly, but I would love to come back and stay here again sometime and experience the full process. I forgot to mention that the staff upon arrival was just as friendly as the man that helped me book the reservation. Can't wait to go back for another staycation soon! Thanks for having us Old Capitol Inn!

Nice room, amazing breakfastI'd go back just for the breakfast. I had a suite and really enjoyed the room. Quiet even though it overlooked the main street. Secure parking next to the hotel. Breakfast the next morning was delicious!!

Anniversary- Again OCInn knocks it out of the parkI have been a customer of this inn for over 10 years. It is quaint, friendly staff and simply pleasant. It should be your go to spot if in Jackson. Other business we have done here is a wedding party- Chef Bruce and staff offered tremendous variety for the value. Also under normal times the Thanksgiving feast is fantastic and I should not share this secret. Stay here!

Quaint downtown hotelWe were in town for a funeral and stayed because it was close to family. Princeton was working the front desk and he was very friendly and helpful. We also asked for a late checkout so we could have time to get dressed for the funeral later in the afternoon and he graciously granted that request. The room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. We were fortunate to get a room with a Juliet balcony overlooking the koi pond and courtyard. The room also had a sort of anteroom when you first entered with a desk, coffee machine, and comfortable chairs. It has a door, so it was able to serve as a dressing room so all three of us could get ready at about the same time. My only complaint would be that there is very little counter space in the bathroom, so just be aware. However, it did include a hair dryer and towel warmer. Breakfast was included and since we are still in COVID times, it was served to us rather than being a buffet. However, you could get additional items (like more bacon for my husband) if you wanted. I didnt get the servers name but she was very good as well. It rained during most of the time we were there so we did not get to visit the rooftop garden or the courtyard. We were walking distance to the capitol but since it rained, we drove instead. I would stay here again.
