  El trato fue inmejorable. Nos recogieron en Nikko (el hotel está a una media hora) nos hicieron una pequeña ruta en la que pudimos ver el lago Chizenji y las cataratas Kegon. Nos explicaron todo lo que necesitamos( en inglés). El hotel es muy acojedor y tranquilo. La comida estaba muy buena y era abundante. Dispone de baños de agua caliente exteriores. El comedor y la habitación tenían vistas al lago. Personalmente he de volver si tengo ocasión.

  Una gran estancia con un trato exquisito

  Nos apetecía disfrutar del privilegiado entorno del parque nacional de Nikko y elegimos el Hotel Shikisai ya que una amiga nos lo había recomendado. El hotel nos gustó mucho y tenía algunos detalles de calidad que nos gustaron mucho. Nos alojamos 2 noches en régimen de media pensión. VENTAJAS: - Ubicación: Junto al lago Chuzenji a apenas 2 km del pueblo y muy cerca de la zona de cascadas y rutas de senderismo. - Servicio: Todo el mundo fue tremendamente agradable y servicial. - Habitación: Amplia y con una virdriera de cristal enorme que te permitía disfrutar de luz natural y de unas vistas de lo mas agradables al bosque que hay frente al hotel. - Onsen: Tenía una parte interior y una parte interior. El agua rezumaba un olor fuerte a azufre ya que el hotel se encuentra en la ladera de un volcan. Sin embargo la piel se quedaba genial al salir. - Sala de estar: Tenían una sala junto a la recepción muy bien acondicionada para sentarse a disfrutar de un café o coger uno de los prismáticos y ver la fauna local. - Parking: Era exterior y gratuito para los clientes del hotel. - Comidas: íbamos en régimen de media pensión así que teníamos desayuno y cena incluido en el precio. La verdad es que la calidad de los productos era indiscutible y había platos que estaban muy buenos como el Shabu Shabu, el tofu frito o el sashimi. Sin embargo, el menú era muy japones y no estábamos muy acostumbrados al sabor de algunos platos. Con esto no quiero decir que la comida fuera mala, solo que para nosotros había sabores para los que no estábamos listos. INCONVENIENTES: - Precio: pagamos 270 por noche. Hay que tener en cuenta que teníamos 2 comidas incluidas, pero aún así se me hizo un precio bastante elevado. - Instalaciones: Eche de menos que el hotel ofreciera algún espacio común adicional para los clientes, un gimnasio o incluso una piscina. CONCLUSIÓN: El hotel nos gustó mucho. El emplazamiento está genial y la atención fue impecable. Sin embargo, si me quedé con la espinita de haberme hospedado en un hotel mas clásico. Vi que por la zona había algunos Ryokanes que tenían muy buena pinta.

  A lifetime experience

  We wanted to visit Nikko, but not to stay in the touristic part. Most of the hotels were out of our budget and then I came across Shikisai. We booked for two nights, half board. First nice surprise - the hotel proposes a free shuttle to and from Nikko. A comfortable minivan picked us up and drove us 45 minutes through the mountains. The hotel is right next to the late in the national park. Upon arrival we experienced the japanese hospitality - we felt extremely welcome. The room was very comfortable, with two futons ( a third for our child was laid out during dinner), a small table and chairs - japanese style, but with a bathroom. From the room we had direct access to the forect and a small terrace. The place is known for bird watching - you have binoculars in the room and in the lobby there is a huge window with a long desk in front of it, five chairs, binoculars and bird watching books. As we were there two nights they proposed us to change the menu for the second night so we do not eat the same thing twice. DInners were exceptional - a real feast, japanese style, with fish, meat, starters, traditional plates like wabu if I remember the name well. More food that we could eat. And there is the onsen - what an experience to seat in the hot bath looking at trees! There is hiking to do and the hotel proposes a free tour of the waterfalls. We had a lovely time and my five year old wants to go back!

  Peaceful

  This hotel includes an onsen bath facility which is spacious but not particularly pretty. The hotel is old fashioned Japanese style with no western style beds. The food both dinner and breakfast is quite elaborate with many Japanese delicacies . The staffs English is tentative but they are eager to please.

  Relaxing hotel deep in the mountains

  From Nikko train station, they provided free shuttle to the hotel, and it takes around 50 minutes. This place is peaceful, and we got a view bath room with breakfast and dinner included. The best part is the relaxing indoor and outdoor hot springs. Dinner portion was a bit too much for me, and you need to dine at a designated time.
