Great location along Takeno Beach!I spent one night at this hotel. It is located one stop away from Kinosakionsen, at Takeno station. The hotel is about a 30 min walk from the station. The hotel has a shuttle that can pick guests up from the station. By shuttle, the hotel is less than 10 min from the station. The staff is very kind and welcoming. This hotel is a traditional Japanese style hotel. The rooms were very clean and spacious for a group of 3 or 4 people. Rooms have a beautiful view of the Sea of Japan. Especially, the room at the end of the hall, has a beautiful side and front facing view of the mountain and ocean. It has a wonderful location right along Takeno Beach and an onsen available to guests. From the onsen you can see the view of the ocean, and it has nice and convenient hours from 5am - 12am. The onsen is fully decked out with beauty and haircare products, which was especially nice and relaxing. Don't forget to check out the message chairs!

Beautiful location just one stop from Kinosaki town. This hotel is one stop on the train past central Kinosaki town, in Takeno, but is definitely worth the visit. It's right next to a beautiful beach with clear water. Sadly it was winter when I went so we didn't go swimming! I could however enjoy the nice hot onsen bath which had both an indoor and outdoor pool. The outdoor pool also had a great view of the ocean while still being private. Both pools were average size but I didn't find it to be a problem. The room I stayed in was Japanese style and it was beautiful. While at dinner, staff came and lay out our futons so we could just fall asleep. Being vegetarian I was a little worried about paying for a dinner and breakfast deal, however they were very accommodating and organised a vegetarian meal that was delicious and had a variety of things. I had a great time there and would definitely consider going back in summer for a swim!

Beautiful beachfront hotelThis hotel was great. It is located right on the ocean. The room views are spectacular!! I felt very relaxed looking out to the ocean from our nice room. It felt secluded and like the perfect little getaway. The food was good. The staff were accommodating and made meal changes for vegetarian/vegan. I would recommend this place.

Not for young travellersWent there with my husband and son as I wanted us to visit Kinosaki Onsen. All hotels in Kinosaki were either full or above 200 pounds a night so I ended up booking this one for an average of £170. What a disappointment it was! The hotel was almost empty. We arrived at 7pm and were told that the restaurant was closed so we ended up not having dinner that night. Same thing for the breakfast the next day!! At 11am we were starving so ordered some food from the finally opened restaurant. 4 of the 8 dishes were not available (no fish and no pork)! Our room, supposedly with mountain view was actually facing a wall of rocks, meaning that we had no natural light. We ended up being woken up around 6am as the wall between our bedroom and next door neighbour was so thin. The room looked like it hadn't been changed since the 1960's. We decided to leave one day early given how poor our experience was but the staff at reception made us pay for the full two nights. Be aware the staff at reception doesn't speak English. All in all, I would not recommend this place to ANYONE!!

Wonderful locationWhen booking here be aware that it is on the sea one JR stop from Kinosaki (not up in Kinosaki Onsen-town). The hotel clings to the mountain side of a small peninsula called Nekozaki at walkable distance from beautiful sand beach Takenohama (1-200 m). This means that only the seaside rooms do the place justice. If you book "with mountain view" it will be cheap and you will be looking straight into the scrubbery and rocks below the bushes and trees on the mountain side and not have a view as such. However, from the common rooms, the on-site onsen (nice indoor/outdoor bath), terrace, etc you will have the view. And when you go outside, wauv! Location is everything. I had a mountain view room because I did not realise the difference beforehand, hmmm, well, actually I did not spend much time in it, I was either enjoying a beach walk, the onsen bath, dinner nearby, breakfast in the dining hall, or off on a hike to the light house at the tip of Nekozaki. It was off season and the town of Takeno was on the quiet side, very relaxing. I found the building is a bit dated but nice and clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. It was built in the 60's and the mix of that era and traditional Japanese is charming in its own sense. The price reflects it and I would say you get fantastic value for your money here. The only drawback for me was that I did not let them know I wanted dinner and when I arrived at 6 pm it was too late to order (I think this is because they serve dinner in the rooms ryokan-style?). I walked to the next place on the beach and had a great sashimi dinner with a sake tasting set of three types there, while watching the full moon over the sea so it turned out just fine.
