Gran descubrimientoEspectacular hotel, servicio, entorno, spa, etc etc Gratamente sorprendidos.

Best anniversary weekend!Everything was better than I imagined. The accommodations, the weather, the venue, the views, the service. Even the follow-up emails were kind and as gracious as the entire staff. We will most certainly return!

Just what the Doctor OrderedWe stayed for 4 nights. The hotel architecture is lovely, and the hotel is huge, so you'll be able to find the room that suits you (views make up for the decor). Restaurant seating was outdoors, and air space was navigable. The golf course is stunningly Olivia-Coleman-rolling-lawn beautiful, and if you're not a golf club type there's still plenty to do. We enjoyed a small batch honey tasting with their knowledgable passionate beekeeper, and it was fascinating- a bit like an educational wine tasting. We loved it. The adult pool was soothing, the cocktails fabulous, and the burger I spotted looked good enough to cheat over. Oak Restaurant was good but Olivella was stunning, and they easily accommodated my dietary needs. There's magic, with lanterns hanging from oak trees, and views that always encourage you to exhale. There were still sightings of overprivileged and overindulged folks, but theyre easy to avoid (as if I'm not one of them). Ojai is an easy walk and decent hikes are easily accessed from there. Try the LOVE cafe in town, aptly named, because the hostess and lunch are super. Cutting some slack at annoying missteps at the hotel was easy, because they're really trying to make you comfortable, and the front line staff is Phenomenal. We were told more than once how much they appreciated us- always nice to hear- and if this virus has taught us anything, it is to appreciate hard working folks who don't have the privilege to sit it out. I would highly recommend OVI.

Beautiful property, magnificent service staffEven during this is a difficult period for the hospitality industry, OVI has not allowed their service model and overall quality to slip. I salute them for their commitment to excellence. I have stayed in 4 hotels/resort during the pandemic and I can unequivocally say that the other properties have degraded during this period... which I understand frankly. OVI remains an excellent and top tier destination... thank you.

Wonderful StayMy wife and I plus our dog spent two nights at the Ojai Valley Inn in late February 2021. It was a very nice stay. The Inn is on approximately 200 acres with an 18-hole golf course. The 300+ hotel rooms are spread over several buildings with quite a bit of space between them. This makes it difficult to walk from one far part of the property to the lobby or the restaurant, so they have a number of guest shuttles that run continuously between the different buildings. Waiting time is usually about five minutes. We were in Villa Los Padres (each building has a different name). Im fairly certain that the rooms in the building were renovated recently. Our room was large, modern and on the first floor. We were on a corner, facing the tee box for the 15th hole on the golf course. We had windows on two walls so there was lots of light. There was a gas fireplace in the corner between the two windows it didnt give a lot of heat, but it was nice ambiance. There was a seating area with an L-shaped sofa and against the back of the sofa was a large desk which gave me lots of room for setting up my computer. Also on the desk was the coffee maker an Illy brand that uses those coffee cassettes. I thought the coffee was very good. Also included under the desk was a refrigerator an empty refrigerator that we could use, instead of one filled with overpriced things that we dont use. The closet was of adequate size and there was a safe for valuables. The WiFi was easy to connect to no password required. I tested the Internet access speed when I first arrived and got about 135 megabits down and about 60 megabits up. There werent many people in the hotel when we arrived it was the first day the hotel was open after being closed for the pandemic so I checked the Internet speed the next day when there were more people. I got a 89 megabits down and 60 megabits up. Very good Internet access. The bed was comfortable and there were extra blankets in the closet we like sleeping in a cool room. There were power outlets on each side of the bed, above the bedtables easy to access. The bath was large with a tub, a shower, large countertop, toilet and one sink. The usual bath amenities were provided. The towels were fluffy and nice. We did have trouble with the toilet running every now and then the flapper valve leaked. The first night we turned the water off to the toilet to get rid of the noise. We reported it the next day and a maintenance person came and replaced the flapper valve. One complaint they have a night light over the toilet, which I thought was an excellent idea. However, the light is on a timer so when you get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, youre stumbling around in the dark. LED lights dont use much electricity, especially a dim one like a night light. Surely they could put a standard switch on that light so we could leave it on all night. We had our dog with us and they provided some nice amenities for our pup a water bowl, a food bowl, a bed and a bag of dog treats that he loved. There were a number of dogs staying at the hotel we saw them walking their owners. This was travel in the time of COVID and the staff took precautions to avoid virus transmission. They were always masked and guests were required to be masked any time they were in a public area. When we first arrived, only one person of the party was allowed into the lobby area to check in. In the restaurants, we had to be masked until we were seated. All-in-all, I was very pleased with the precautions they took. The staff was uniformly friendly and willing to go out of their way to help. For example, twice when we were waiting at a tram stop, a golf cart type bus intended for transporting employees came by and offered us a ride so we wouldnt have to wait for the regular guest shuttle. We played the golf course while we were there. The front nine has some very interesting and challenging holes but the back nine is fairly conventional. The course was in excellent shape. We ate in the Oak Restaurant twice, once for breakfast and once for dinner. Good experience both times. They were only serving on the patio but had lots of gas heaters going to keep the diners warm. All-in-all, an excellent stay.
