During the July long weekend I headed up from Tokyo on the Bullet Train to spend a couple of nights in a quiet relaxing hot springs resort. Although not the newest hotel, I still had a great stay with good food in a relaxing environment. I organized before hand and the hotel happily picked my up via shuttle from the Station for the 30 minute or so trip to the hotel. Check-in was fast and convenient and as I had one of the few single rooms, it was basic but clean and comfortable. The hotel has a great public bath, with 1 pool outdoors and about 3 indoors, including a sauna. Also the hotel is well equipped with vending machines if you need a drink or snack. The price of the hotel also included a buffet breakfast offering a huge variety of food and the included dinner was perfect. Feel free to live in your Yakata anywhere in the hotel. Activities during the day, if you love walking you can take a nice 5 hour stroll along the river admiring the many waterfalls until you reach the lake or they have a very convenient public bus. A few things too mention is : They have no WIFI, but do have a couple of Business computers for use. I bought a few things from the large supermarket at the main station before heading to the hotel. Call them before hand to arrange pickup Breakfast and Dinner included Would be better if you didn't come alone :)

Relaxing hotel, friendly staff
Located close to bus station, but need to climb up the hill to get to the hotel or, just ask the staff to come to pick you up. The staff are very nice to offer me a ride to the bus station when I go to Towada Lake for sight seeing and pick me up afterwards. The room was spacious and nice, Japanese style but have a western style bed! Nice furnish, nice food, no WiFi but I enjoy my stay a lot.
