Old Hotel But Good Enough For The PriceOceanview is an old hotel but its location is good, room is clean & spacious, with a reasonable rate. Upon arrival/entry, you'll immediately see that the hotel needs updating, most especially the reception area. Even the front desk staff's uniform needs to be improved. There are two areas - The Garden Court & the Condominium. The Garden Court has been renovated and is nearer the parking area so I guess this is a good option. It also has a vendo & ice machine on the hallway. There's a nice courtyard, too. I did not see the room here, though, as we were booked in the condo. We tried requesting for a transfer but it was fully booked. The Condo is due for renovation. The common area/hallway was not pleasant at all. As soon as we entered the elevator & got out of it going to our room, we were disappointed. The standard room, however, is large, with 2 queen-sized beds, a big sofa & center table, a refrigerator, small dining table with 2 chairs, a closet, & enough space for the luggages. There is also a pantry with microwave oven & coffee maker. The best part is the nice view of the ocean. We were told that this is the Condominium's advantage over the Garden Court. The room was kept clean. Housekeeping cleaned it daily during the period of our stay, but there was a lingering weird smell in the toilet & bath but not too strong so we were not bothered much by it. The beds are comfortable. Everything really needs updating & refurbishing, though. There are also stains on one corner of our room's ceiling. The TV's remote control was not working when we came in. It had to be replaced because it was not the right one. Good thing service was prompt when requested. We heard renovation on the rest of the hotel will be done soon or have actually started because we could hear some construction work somewhere near our room as early as 9 am, another reason why we requested for transfer to the Garden Court. Nevertheless, we were practically out the entire day so it was just okay. Yes, it's an uphill climb going to the hotel so if you have a problem with it, the best option is to bring/rent a car like we did. It's also recommended in Guam as taxis are expensive and not that easy to flag one. Shuttles are available to & from some tourist attractions & shopping areas but on schedule. Renting a car is easy with the hotel. Just make sure you have your driver's license with you. However, if you're booked at the condo & couldn't get a parking space outside the hotel's main entrance, it would be quite a walk to your room. The hotel has a restaurant. However, it opens late for breakfast. Before we checked out on a Saturday, we wanted to have breakfast but it was still closed & would open at 9 am yet. Locationwise, it's just walking distance to the beach and many restaurants including a 24-hour McDonalds. T Galleria, a duty-free shopping mall, and The Plaza shopping center are also nearby. All in less than a kilometer distance (approx. 500 to 600 meters from the hotel). There's also a mini amusement park beside the hotel. Shuttle to & from the airport is available. Just book in advance. Rate is also better than taxis. If you're on a budget & will be out shopping or swimming most of the time, anyway, Oceanview would be a good choice considering its location & price, but better book a room at the Garden Court if the Condominium has not been renovated. If you're after the view, opt for the Condominium instead. For the price that we paid for, I think it's good enough.

Gnarly and Lame... Avoid!!!I'm in the middle of a ridiculous experience. First room? Broken air conditioner. Second room? Malfunctioning air conditioner with teeny tiny twin beds (as a "f*** you" possibly). Now I'm back at the front desk with their customer service rep Amanda Joyce. She's put me in another room with a properly working air conditioner, but this side of the hotel (the other side too really) is a mess. The difference with this side is that it's a dusty, dirty, possibly toxic mess. The room, which is a serious upgrade from the other two, is however very musty smelling. Based on my experiences so far here (and not just at this hotel), if this hotel is representing Guam in general, I'm getting the impression that, if Guam is looking to up its game, it's still in the "looking" not "doing" phase. This is so NOT Hawaii. Even crap hotels in Hawaii have a leg up on this one.

Hair tie on floor and hair. Shower knob broken.Hair and tired in floor. Not mine but they didn't clean the room Properly. Complained at front so they finally cleaned. Park is dark and a long walk to the safer parking. Takes about 6 minutes to walk to room. Not that convenient.

Under serious renovation and very incomplete set upWe checked in yesterday and most of this hotel looks and feels like a construction site. Our floor was like walking into an under construction building. The room we got was large, simple and clean however we found that there were no water glasses or enough towels and crockery and cutlery. Upon asking the reception and reminding them over 15 times from 4pm till 9pm we eventually got told that they dont have water glasses or towels or mugs. This is the most shocking response I have ever heard in a functioning hotel. Eventually after threatening to checkout we were given a couple of wine glasses for drinking water. If this is the condition of your facility why are you trying to keep the hotel running during renovation?

I hated my stay here with a passionDont waste your money nor ruin your Guam experience by staying here. Stay at the Westin or a different resort for a little extra money. The following describes why: The building is so old and poorly built that all sounds travel throughout the building like a concert hall. Considering it is a hotel, I would think they would try to prevent this and make it more comfortable/private for their customers, but no they do not care about that. From inside me room I could hear people throughout the hallways talking clear as day. The people in the next room right next to me were having conversations that I felt like I was a part of. When people close the door to their room, they slam shut and it sounds like an explosion every time!!! It is ridiculously loud, and you hear it all day and night!!! The a/c is NOT adjustable so hopefully you are comfortable at exactly 72 degrees F. My toilet seemed to get backed up every day for no apparent reason. There are no tea or individual coffee packets or water boilers are in the rooms. No utensils or stir sticks. They do provide a small coffee pot and packaged coffee. The most frustrating thing to me was the internet!!! The WiFi signal was such garbage and so poor that I could barely even place a WhatsApp call or browse the internet. The only good thing about this hotel is that it is in Guam.
