  Great Views

  The location of this resort is the best!, ...right on the beautiful beach. The building is old, in need of updating....the unit was very clean but in need of modernizing from the furniture to the appliances.....there is no onsite office...there was a tel # on a sign in the parking lot.....when I called they gave me directions to another resort to checking....checking is confusing, security an issue....

  Best place on the beach

  Ocean Forest Colony is a timeshare property, and we have owned three weeks there for many years. If the units are not being used by their owners, they are available to rent. There is no on-site management--check-in is at the Beach House resort down the street. Ocean Forest Colony is the best oceanfront location on the beach. On the right are protected dunes, on the left is the Island Vista resort and then private homes, so the beach is never crowded. There are only 12 apartments, 4 on each floor, each with two bedrooms, two baths, and a full kitchen. There is a swimming pool but no other amenities (other than that big, beautiful ocean at your doorstep which is the only amenity we need), so if you are into staying at a high rise with an indoor water park, lazy river, hot tub, restaurant, etc., and having to climb over wall-to-wall bodies to get to the water, don't stay here! There is a beach bar at Island Vista where you can walk to for a pina colada and other summer drinks. The units are clean, comfortable, quiet, and decorated in a cheerful beachy style, The master bedroom has a king bed with en-suite bath, the second bedroom has two twins, and there is a sofa bed in the living room. There is also a brand-new elevator making the building accessible to those with disabilities. Another reviewer commented about the lack of parking--that is because this a timeshare property, not a "resort," and therefore does not provide for 25 of your closest friends and family. There is a dedicated space for each unit, two visitor spaces, and a handicapped space. There is no smoking in the building, on the balconies, or at the pool. Again, I want to emphasize that this is not a fancy upscale resort, but my family and I would never want to stay anywhere else. We love it here.

  Ocean Forest Colony

  The location is great but the facility is somewhat outdated. The pool and area are clean. Elevator works sometimes which is annoying when loading and unloading. There is no hot tub or any other amenities - literally just a pool. The beach is great and not crowded even during peak season. There is only one parking spot for each unit and the units sleep 6 so plan to park any additional vehicles offsite. There is parking nearby for $10 a day. We had a great stay but there are no bells and whistles or added luxuries at this property.

  Clean or not.

  The fry pans were dirty. I notified the front desk and they said it would be taken care of, nothing happened. so i ran the dishwasher on pot and pan cycle but they still needed scrubbing and still do.

  Property is very old, outdated, and poorly maintained. Location is good. Rust is evident in many areas, ice maker was faulty, microwave digital readout was faulty. bed was uncomfortable. Laminate was peeling off of cabinets. Black mold was present. We have photos to verify.
