  Nasty place

  We were supposed to stay at this place for four days, though it shortly became evident this was not going to happen. The hotel is located in the middle of nowhere, and there is absolutely nothing to do except looking at the ocean from some of the top floor rooms. And although the beach is in short proximety, the latter consists of rocks and is not recommeded for bathing. The room was dirty, with dead bugs in the bathroom and sheets that had seen better days. It was impossible to close the shower door, though my effort was only minor due to the dirty surroundings. And also, hardly any water pressure. It is also worth noting the lack of functioning Wi-Fi or a door easy to lock. The last part took several attempts on more than one occasion. The pool seems nice, though this is not enough to make up for the unacceptable lack of clean surroundings. Avoid at all cost! Mirissa is only 10 km away and is packed with cheaper and better options.

  Horrible

  En todos mis años viajando nunca habia vivido una experiancia peor en cuanto a in hotel se refiere. Aislado de todo, sucio pero como nunca has visto, mafia de personal. Cucarachas y arañas en el cuarto.. Lo peor de todo nuestro viaje a Sri lanka. No se ni como se permiten de alquilar un sitio asi. Por supuesto estabamos solos en el hotel. No se lo recomiendo ni a mis peores enemigos.

  Don't ever stay there or do any business with those people - Karma will do the rest

  I booked this place for 3 night in January 2019. After the cancellation period ended the Hotel send me a message that they only have a room for 2 nights not for the 3 nights. I said if they can't offer me the nights I booked, I am gone stay somewhere else. They came back to me and said that this is ok. Normally when you can't offer a service you are not charged, but they charged me and never gave me my money back. I booked with Hotels.com and they never answered me. Never stay at this place and also never book with Hotels.com ... This is the worse. But everybody gets what he deserves.

  Faded grandeur

  After having been let down by our booking in mirissa we arrived here to a wonderful friendly welcome .The garden and the pool were excellent.The rooms need up dating but ours was clean and you cant expect luxury for the price .Breakfast was excellent and varied .if you like faded Art Deco and few people you will like this place .I think previous reviews are unfair and this hotel is much better than the cramped ,noisy hotels in Mirissa .

  Home away from home

  We were only going to stay a week! However, the family who own this small, friendly hotel were so accommodating and genuinely lovely, that we stayed on. We rented a moped and used the hotel as our home. There were only a few other guests who came and went. The chef was amazing and made us special Sri Lankan curries and breakfast was always delicious. It's not your usual resort hotel, it's only 14 rooms, and possessed individuality and a rustic charm. Our bedroom was very large with a high ceiling, and on the balcony we could almost touch the monkeys, monitor lizards, sea eagles, and mongeese. The electric storms at night lit up the entire sky and ocean. We found unspoilt beaches within a mile. In short, we were at home at Ocean Dreams Hotel, and I will be going back. If you like something a little different and you're an independent traveller, please - be their guest.
