  Good place for long stay in Sunnyvale

  I stay here during long trip in Sunnyvale for business. I stayed in their studio apartment as well as two bed room apartment. Very comfortable and well serviced apartment. Dedicated secured car parking is available within the cost and the rooms are comfortable and well equipped. Slightly over priced for short booking but yet recommending this place for long stay.

  Great service and great location

  My company put me here for a month and I must say at first I was hesitant as Ive never stayed in corporate apartments before but now I will be requesting to stay at Oakwoods every time I travel. You basicly dont feel that you are traveling anymore. It is your home for a month. You have cool neighbors from all over the world, housekeeping is provided every week and the staff over there are so pleasant and friendly. The location was perfect for me, 10 min away from work and there are many places and things to do around. The only down side is it is a garden style building so if you mind going up the stairs make sure to request a ground floor apartment.

  Good value compared to regular hotels

  I had a 10 day stay and chose Oakwood because it was considerably cheaper than regular hotels in the area. The studio apartment was comfortable and modern enough, with more than enough facilities to cook simple meals (stove top, microwave, but no oven). The interior had had a refit probably in the last 12 -- 24 months and included A/C and heating. The bed was comfy and there was more space than a hotel room. The complex is quite large and impersonal, a little shabby around the edges and looked like it had been constructed in the 70s. Clearly everyone there was on a short term basis, although I had the feeling that at 10 days I was even more short term than most of the residents. For a 10 day stay there was no room service. What little interaction I had with the staff was courteous. There are large supermarkets within a 5 minute walk and plenty of secure parking. For a couple of nights I was disturbed by cars with very loud music driving around the carpark at 2 or 3 in the morning. Overall, exactly as advertised but no more. Very typical of all the apartment complexes in Silicon Valley. Next time I'll probably pay a few more dollars for a hotel room closer to my workplace.

  Transitional Housing

  I stayed here for about 45 days as I settled into the area looking for more of a permanent home. The studio I was in was well priced and better than AirBnb or hotel options for the price. It came with underground secure parking, but a limited kitchette similar to european style (no oven or dishwasher), BUT the W/D more than made up for it!! The property has been refit and brought up-to-date with the exception of the exterior and interior of walls... absolutely NO soundproofing!!! I was on a first floor unit (request a top floor) and had a shared side and back wall and you can hear "everything" from people walking loudly up the stairs, slamming doors (no idea why people think that's okay), arguing and crying newborns very clearly through the walls. One Sunday morning at 7am I thought someone had entered into my apartment while slamming their door shut, it was that bad, but when I let the staff know about that and another loud neighbor, it was promptly addressed. Another helpful hint, the doors do lock on their own, contrary to the instructions on the door, so always have your key fob! If you're in a corporate apartment, you can request additional items like hangers, toaster oven or dish dry racks and it's delivered quickly with the staff being very accommodating!! Advice to management, update check in instructions and back of door notice both in writing and verbally to advise people to be more self-aware; i.e. turning door handles to slowly open/shut doors, no loud talking walking up stairs, racing through the parking garage, etc. because I don't think they've been taught this growing up. Overall this is your typical larger wood construction apartment complex and appeared to be filled with a diverse temporary workforce staying there on business and/or long-term contracts. It was a great place as an interim solution, but not a permanent residence.

  Exceeded expectations

  Ended up booking a one week stay in a 1 bedroom apartment as an alternative to some overpriced hotels nearby. The pictures in their website looked good (but they all do!), and it seemed a cost effective option, so worth trying. The apartment seemed to have been quite recently refurbished, with a nice sitting area, a good kitchen (with enough kitchenware to get started), decent TV and wifi and a comfortable bedroom. The bathroom was showing a bit its age, but it was clean and functional. Staff was very friendly when checking in, although not there when checking out even if it was during their announced office hours. Location in El Camino Real is good, with quick access to the main roads in the Valley, and within walking distance of several shops and restaurants. All in all a very interesting option, worth considering if you can live without daily housekeeping (and most of us can).
