  Great Service, Great Location,

  I am really enjoying my stay here in Oakwood Residence in Suzhou. The big thing that stands out to me is the terrific service provided by the staff all around - be it in the front desk, room service or in the dining room. In particular I want to give a big thanks Mr. Hanball and the entire staff in the dining room. It's just not me, I have observed everyone from the young to the old with care, respect and great service. Oh, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the nice, strong coffee and the delicious food prepared daily by the kitchen staff.

  A wonderful hotel to stay

  This is my fourth or fifth visit to Suzhou. After the first stay in this hotel, it becomes my first choice when I travel to this city. The hotel rooms here are well equipped, and the cleanliness of the rooms is excellent. But the point which attracts me most is the hospitality of the staff here. They will try their best to help the customer here to have a pleasant stay, especially the restaurant manager Mr Hanball, who is a really nice guy to talk to. So, if you are going to pay a visit to Suzhou, it is worthwhile to give this hotel a try, I am sure it wont let you down.

  Great rooms, restaurant, and staff

  Ive stayed at the Oakwood Hotel & Residence in Suzhou before and have again this month. Its a great hotel for international travelers who will be staying more than a week or two in Suzhou. The rooms are spacious and include personal kitchens, washer/dryer combo machines, access to a variety of local and international TV channels from around the world, etc. The restaurant offers a selection of Asian and western dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The breakfast buffet in particular has just about everything you could want. I often end up skipping lunch because Im still full from the breakfast. The hotel staff is also great, making sure that even little things are taken care of for you. For example, for breakfast I typically choose the western food options in the buffet. The staff makes sure that my table has western utensils (in addition to the usual chop sticks) without asking for them. They also know that I typically like to have a large glass of orange juice in the morning and theyll have it ready for me when Im seated at the table. During various local and international holidays the staff will also decorate the hotel, making sure travelers can still enjoy the holiday even if theyre away from home. During Christmas they had a variety of lights, Christmas trees, and other decorations. They even offered a special Christmas dinner to guests. The hotel is close to several other restaurants so that if you ever want to try something else, you can just walk down the street for more options. Its also within walking distance to a Suzhou subway stop, giving you easy access to the rest of Suzhou. Probably the only area that could be improved would be the Internet connectivity. Sometimes the Internet speed slows down or becomes unreliable at night. Not sure why, but maybe it depends on how many guests are in their rooms at night trying to use it at the same time. But by the next morning its back to normal. Im very happy to stay in this hotel and would recommend it Im to it others who will be traveling to Suzhou for extended stays.
