Girls tripStaying here right now in a chalet, plenty of room two queen beds, two bedrooms with twin beds and two couches that pull out. The beds are really comfortable and there is a kitchen with everything you need. There are fire pits and the view is spectacular. The food in the resort is very good and the work they have done on the resort looks fabulous. If you want a great trip oak island is the spot and chalet 4 is wonderful.

Resort-lessThe name says itits a resort. First appearances suggest that with landscaped grounds, nicely finished rooms and bathrooms, beautiful vistas and easy parking. However, cracks that soon became chasms appeared during our weekend stay. Businesses are going through tough times during the pandemic in attracting clientele, but that should be all the more reason to roll out the red carpet when one comes through the door. It was obviously a busy weekend for the resort with a wedding and a car club holding court. Our positive turned to negative at dinner that was also a wedding anniversary for us. The location of the table was good by a window and our server promptly attended us and took our wine order. We didnt see her again and after 45 minutes we had to ask someone to come to us, as we still hadnt received even a glass of water. The problem was perhaps that we were directly situated by a large table that seemed to be getting all the attention. This other table had loud patrons who got progressively louder. I wanted a dish that included onions and asked our server if they used U.S. onions that have been linked to salmonella. She wasnt sure but went back to the kitchen and the reply was they were indeed American, so the chicken dish was ordered instead. The chicken was absolutely tasteless and the green vegetable, broccoli maybe, was crisp and close to burnt. Meanwhile the decibel level at the next table had reached headache-causing proportions and people at that table were even shouting that they couldnt hear other people speaking. Our server, Paula, seemed genuinely empathetic with us. Wouldnt management have the intuition to keep such large groups separate from other guests, even in a designated portion of the dining room? It certainly wasnt the resort experience we had expected. We left and went to listen to live music in the bar and asked the server for two glasses of water. Thirty minutes later we were still waiting. We went to bed to discover the rooms in the main building arent very soundproof. F for fail.

WonderfulUnfortunately, the island itself was closed due to 2020, but the hotel itself offered many other treats, like miniature golf, tennis courts, outdoor AND indoor pools, a marina with kayak rentals, as well as a summer hockey rink! The food was amazing and the outdoor dining area also had a lovely place to lounge with propane heaters. The rooms were comfortable, but I think my favourite element was the staff. From the reception to the servers; everyone was super friendly and accommodating. Definitely will plan another visit when the island reopens.

Beautiful views and friendly staff and amazing foodThe rooms are beautiful, clean and modern and the views are fantastic. The fish and chips was the best I have had in a long time so I highly recommend that for lunch or dinner. The staff was always very friendly, pleasant and helpful. The grounds are well kept and the balcony is a welcome treat and something most hotels do not have.

Strategic Planning with a viewHotel newly renovated,. very comfortable with rooms at a very high standard. staff were very attentive. The new bar area is very nice and the restaurant had an excellent range of food for all palates. The view across to Oak island was stunning especially with the fall colours along the shoreline
