  Gorgeous property in the heart of Galle Fort

  We stayed at Number 48 Galle Fort for two night during our recent trip to Sri Lanka. The property is absolutely stunning, the location perfect if you want to explore the Fort on foot. The team took such great care of us, they were super lovely, helpful and attentive. Breakfast was delicious and gave us enough energy to explore the sights. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and can highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to experience a few nights in a beautiful historical building.

  Gorgeous Find

  We were literally blown away by how gorgeous this property is. Sitting unassumingly in the heart of the fort with no real signage the doors open onto an enormous central living space, with library & huge inner courtyard. It's a small colonial villa with only 4 rooms & no pool but perfect to explore Galle Fort. Our room was huge and so authentic, wifi was brilliant and we had freshly made breakfast at the huge dining table in the courtyard. If there is a group of you travelling together it would be wonderful to take over the whole house. The staff were discreet & friendly & we would absolutely go back.

  Do not miss this wonderful place!

  I was very Lucky. I visited this wonderful colonial style hotel! I ate a delicius vegeterian meal in such a beautiful setting. Prince very reasonable. Dont miss it! The stuff very kind and warm. Enjoy!

  A unique hotel

  My husband, parents and I stayed here for two nights during our recent trip to Sri Lanka - I had chosen the hotel due to the good reviews on TripAdvisor. The hotel is tucked away off a small street in the centre of Galle Fort, and as soon as you go through the front door it is an oasis of calm. Once in the hotel, you couldn't hear the hustle and bustle of the town, and it felt very tranquil. The hotel only has 4 rooms, and decor is very stylish, suiting the colonial style of the hotel. The bedrooms are a very good size, and there were a number of seating areas dotted around the hotel that you could relax in. After walking around the town, it was a good place to come back to relax in when it became a bit too hot for sightseeing! The staff are very discreet but are there if you need them, and we were served up a very tasty and filling breakfast each morning. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and would stay again if we visited Galle.

  Perfect respite.

  As the front door closed, the sudden, contrasting peace of the house inspired me to open it again, just to check I really was at the epicenter of a busy town. Galle Fort, bywords for chic in these parts, is worthy of a few off-beach days to meet its characters, explore alleyways and party a little. Elegant suite-rooms, sweet service and effortless class fit well with the fact that everything actually works here, a rare bonus in an otherwise gorgeous country! Huge comfy bed, efficient plumbing, pin-drop quiet air-con plus, a really sumptuous breakfast delivered on time to where I wanted to eat it. Thanks for taking care of me guys, and for waking up in the middle of the night to open the door! I loved this characterful house and its charming staff, and will return one day.
