Great Hotel In A Trendy AreaI have stayed here twice and have been delighted both times. The rooms are nice, large and well designed. And I really like the location. This hotel is located in the best part of Podil, very close to the Funicular and to the Postal Square. There is a pedestrian area nearby with several restaurants and cafes. The Postal Square has a nice promenade for a walk along the river. The staff speak excellent English and are very polite and helpful. The only small negatives are, first I can hear a light rumble occaisionally, which I assume must be from a nearby metro. But mostly I don't notice it and it does not bother me at all. Second, there is no elevator and my room is up two flights of stairs. If you have a problem with stairs this might not be the place for you. However, if I return to Kiev, I will likely return to this hotel. I really enjoyed it.

Great location good city hotelWe stayed here for 3 nights during our tour of western Ukraine. Hotel is well located in Podel area of Kiev, its a short flat stroll to a pedestrian area which appears 'up and coming' where there are cafes/bars/restaurants and shops. Just to the right is the elevator/funicular up to St Michaels church and other parts of the city. So location is pretty perfect as Kiev is a big place. Hotel does have a couple of steep steps outside and parking outside is somewhat difficult ( your transport may not be able to pull up outside). Welcome was really good we were given a glass of sparkling wine while we checked in. Reception staff spoke good english. There is no lift however staff will and do help with luggage. Our room ( at the rear) had no view (car park) but was quiet at night ( front facing rooms may experience street/traffic noise)., Room was 'compact' and space was very tight in relation to storing our suitcases however it appeared clean. Room had airconditioning, TV, WiFi and af fridge. TV was difficult to use ( had to get asssitance) and only had local (non english) channels. No complementary water and no in room safe-hotel offers free safe deposit boxes in reception. Bed although Ok was very low and quite soft. Bathroom again is OK if a bit small and the shower screen around the bath was past its best. Towels were fluffy. As other have said you can hear/feel the deep rumble of the metro however it is not intrusive and does not prevent sleep. We really liked the staff who to a man/woman went out of their way to be personal/friendly and professional. Peter (reception sorry if the name is wrong) was informative, helpful and chatty a real asset to the hotel as were Victor (general manager) and Oleg ( waiter). I very rarely compliment individual staff but these three guys made our stay happy and fun. Breakfast in the 21 Kitchen is outstanding. Great fresh coffee and freshly prepared food to order. Best breakfast we had in Ukraine. Breakfast room ( 21 Kitchen ) is a wonderful space where we had two lovely evening meals as it is an up market fushion restaurant , Please try it and with 20 percent off everything for hotel stayers it is such good value. Great stay here and despite the small rooms we would stay here again.

Good mid-range hotel with very smiley staffThis room only hotel is very conveniently situated in Podil, one of the oldest areas, and near both funicular and metro although walking in to town is perfectly feasible. There is an adjoining restaurant and lots of good cafes nearby. Our room was fine, comfortable bed and clean. The Wi-fi is good and free. Best of all, the staff are super-friendly and helpful.

Great location, Friendly, helpful, happy (English speaking) staffThe hotel is basic, but very comfortable and clean. It is ideal for a short break. There was no safe deposit box in the room but I was able to leave my valuables with the staff during the day. The shower was mega powerful! The inclusive breakfast is NOT a buffet. Everything is cooked absolutely freshly to order and despite it taking a bit longer than one would like, the variety was delightful and helped me to feel that I was in Ukraine and not staying in a bog standard hotel chain where everything is the same - the entire world over. The staff were all delightful. I only managed to learn 'good morning' and 'thank you' in Ukrainian but they were so welcoming, the language barrier made little difference.I would be very happy to return there as the location was excellent. There are coffee shops, restaurants and boutique shops literally around the corner and a great supermarket about 500 metres away. If you like vodka, you will be in 7th heaven as prices are unbelievably low. Highly recommended.

Friendly small hotel in ideal locationThis small hotel is in an ideal location beside the funicular up to the city centre and a metro station. The street it is on has many restaurants and we found different places to eat on all five nights we were there without having to go any further. Our room was at the back and very quiet despite this being a busy area at night. I could hear the metro as others have pointed out but it is not disturbing at all. Although it was hot we could set the air conditioning to a comfortable temperature when needed. The room cleaning was efficient and water was provided every day, and the wi-fi was excellent. As the hotel was completely refurbished recently everything is new. Staff at the reception were very friendly and a pleasure to meet. The breakfast is served in the Indian restaurant in the building, and it not a buffet which is understandable given the small size of the hotel. The breakfast menu was 'English', 'Ukranian', 'Continental' and 'Peruvian' but some of the components of these were not available, so the choice was more limited. I think it would be better to offer each component separately and then people would have more choice.
