The worst hotel in Japan!I spent 10 days in Japan in a group tour between 19/7 and 29/7/2018. All the hotels were amazing with beautiful spacious clean rooms and outstanding service, except for the Riverside Hotel in Numazu, Japan. Our group of 28 people arrived in the evening after a long trip only to find that what they call a double room is a single bed for two! It was too small even for a couple, but it was outrageous for two people/friends sharing a room. In addition, the rooms were so small that we could barely fit our suitcases in them not to mention move around. Our request at reception was met with an obstinate answer that there were no extra rooms or cots or even mattresses so as to avoid sleeping on one another. The reception clerk seemed to absolutely enjoy saying no to whatever we suggested or asked for! The problem was solved by our Japanese tour guide who booked extra rooms in another hotel so as to enable us to sleep decently and ensure our privacy. I am writing this review so as to warn travelers to avoid this hotel if they want to get a decent room and respectful service!

Looks fantastic from the outside and lobby but that is itI stayed just one night at the hotel with my family and thank goodness. The outside and lobby looks absolutely amazing but after that it is very average. The rooms are typically Japanese size which is fine but the room was way too hot and the beds are so hard. We tried to adjust or turn down the temperature but no luck. The staff were not appealing or helpful asto us as a tourist and no extra information was given to us. It was not till later that I read it was one of 4-5 hotels that offer a free bike for your use andI only found that in the tourist information book from the JR station. They spoke very poor and little English which is also fine and made no effort to make us feel welcome. We left early the day after on purpose and had breakfast near the station. The hotel is about a 10 walk from the JR station. The best thing was we were there for the fireworks which was just out our window on the other side of the river . We think it was for the Emporers birthday? The bikes were handy to go to the port area to explore and back towards the station for dinner. You need to ask and then sign a form. They then give you a key to lock the bike which is in the car parking area. Would I stay again - no as not a good feeling and it was the most expensive hotel we had in 3 weeks of touring Japan.

Hidden gem in numazuIt took me almost 6-7 mins to walk from the numazu station to this great hotel. Almost surprise with the Size of my room as its quite big in Japanese terms. Bed is a bit on the hard side though. The room came with a humidifier as well. I have to comment on the breakfast though. Absolutely delicious. Never had a better bacon In my life. My hotel view is direct viewing of mt fuji every morning! The hotel Is famous for another reason as its beside the Love Live location Yohane's apartment. Outside the hotel is bus 22 which takes you direct to marine Island, mito beach paradise and nagaisaki school so this hotel is the perfect place to stay while in Numazu! Have to say, it's within 10 mins from You's cafe as well. Overall, I will come back to this hotel if I ever stay near Mt fuji again.

AVOID THIS HOTEL!We spent two weeks in Japan last summer and enjoyed the most amazing hotels and service everywhere, except for the Numazu Riverside Hotel! The so-called double rooms were so small that we could barely get in with our trolleys. The worst part was that what they called a double bed was only slightly wider than a single bed and even the married couples amongst us werent happy about that. In addition, there was no real air condition, but only some kind of air cooler that worked on and off. We were all furious and when we complained at the reception and demanded real double bedrooms, the staff were very unpleasant and uncooperative and they seemed to enjoy saying no to every one of our requests. They kept repeating that thats the size of their double bedrooms although the hotel brochures and photos in the elevator showed otherwise. Dont be fooled by the spacious elegant lobby! The rest of the hotel is a great disappointment!

Good onlyThe hotel is beautiful but looks old and outdated . But the room was nice with all the necessary features and things. Staff was also kind . But its inconvenient if you will come by train or bus . And also they charge for the parking extra we paying 1000 yen for one night car parking. So overall the hotel was good not so great and nothing much to do around the hotel ..
